NOAH.

NOAH began creating custom mix tapes at a single digit age before he owned or could even reach a turntable.  His love of compiling music as a selector grew from making radio edits on pink and yellow Maxell 90 minute cassettes to playing music for friends in his small Southern Illinois hometown.  His life as a disc jockey began to take shape while moving the bodies of sweaty coeds for 4 years at The University of Wisconsin-Madison in the late 90's.  While on Spring Break in Jamaica in 2000 he played his first large venue, De Buss and the following year returned to Negril for the entire Spring.  The few months he spent there playing music in on the West Bank in his early twenties opened his heart and mind to Reggae, deepening his musical and spiritual roots forever.  This short residency abroad while caring for two Rhodesian Ridgebacks, earned him the name NOAH, which followed him home and left him with the burning desire to grow into a vinyl disc jockey and later seek his first long-term residency stateside and the rest is history.    

NOAH has had the privilege of twisting knobs behind the booth of nearly every St. Louis venue and still he treats every booking he is blessed to play with pure and genuine love and excitement.  This year alone he has played across the North American continent from Shambhala Music Festival in Canada to after parties at Coachella, underground events in Chicago and he most recently opened shows for the legendary Diplo and future hero Notaker. He continues to defy musical genres, filling his always unpredictable sets with new remixes of contemporary tracks adored by millions as well as with classic and future house, techno, electro, deep and tropical house, disco, and bass music as well as anything else that stands to move the room.  His signature black on black attire with eyes forever shielded by the tilted brim of his hat of the same color are intended to keep the crowds focus during his live sets right where it belongs…

While San Diego's veteran DJ/Producer Phrenik made his mark on the Southern California electronic music scene primarily through drum and bass, unbeknownst to many, his influence and impact reaches much further. Both varied and versatile, with high-energy performances and critically acclaimed productions acting as his calling cards, Phrenik’s position as a major player in the world of EDM has been surely secured.

Long a staple on the SoCal scene, Phrenik's popularity grew nationally and internationally through his highly rated radio show on DrumnBassTV.com, "The Resistance", which he hosted for 5 years. After leaving the station in 2008 to focus on his production, his studio credibility began to start a buzz amongst the industry with his critically acclaimed dubstep remix of Rihanna's hit, Disturbia, receiving downloads numbered in the thousands, hitting home with fans of both Rihanna and the grimey dubstep enthusiasts alike.

Since then, Phrenik’s reputation as a respected producer was further solidified  when he teamed up with renowned vocalist Jillian Ann to create their breakthrough dubstep hit ‘Set It Off’ which broke the Beatport Top 100 within its first week of release on Simplify Recordings, not to mention also climbing to #1 in all-time label sales for the site. 2012 saw a steady flow of solid releases from Phrenik, coming from such bass heavy labels as London’s LU10 Recordings to L.A.’s Heavy Artillery Recordings. His much anticipated follow-up release on Simplify, entitled the ‘The Impact EP’ made viral waves on the internet and received much acclaim from critics and bloggers alike. 

It has proven to be a productive year for this prolific artist with many of his recent releases constantly climbing up the charts, including a remix for Figure that appeared on his chart topping “Monsters Vol. 3” album, thus creating quite a buzz in the world of bass. Collaborations and plenty of remix work are scheduled for various labels including Simplify, Doom, Heavy Artillery and Atom Recordings to name a few. With such quality productions on such a wide variety of fronts, and such a buzz around his upcoming releases, all while gathering support from many of the genre’s most notable producers, It’s no doubt Phrenik is quickly becoming one of the new bad boys of bass music.
