Born Derrick Frimpong Manso was uncovered in 2007 at Tweneboah Koduah High School after taking part in several rap battles both inter and intra schools.

In 2009 he joined the Freestyle Saturday rap show that was organised by Solid FM in Kumasi and placed 3rd out of over 400 rappers.

In 2010, he took part in the Back from School Rap competition organised by Okyeame Kwame's One Mic Entertainment for rappers in Ashanti region where Phrimpong emerged winner out of 82 top rappers. ‎

The year 2013 saw him jump on different radio rap shows in Accra and Kumasi as well as some stations in the Brong Ahafo Region.

Phrimpong caught the attention of Xxtra Music, a record label based in Japan and got signed as the first born of the virgin record label.

In his insatiable quest to free people out of their plights, he saw the need to address the shortcoming of his religion, Christianity and addressed them in a 3 minute video titled Religion. 

Been a Pan-African from childhood, he released another song called Africa which he featured Skulboy, a local artiste from the Northern part of Ghana, a song which talks about the wealth and worth of Africa.

Phrimpong has an 18 track album “The School” which features lots of artistes in Ghana like Flowking Stone, Kontihene, Kojo Cue of BBnZ, Shatta Rako, Cabum, Ryan Korsah (Vodafone Iconz 2013 Winner) and more, available on iTunes, Spotify and other digital online music stores. In addition he has a ‎peace song to sensitize Ghanaian on the need for peace in an election year.

Seeing the suffering on the streets and underprivileged from afar and passionate about giving back to society, Phrimpong collaborated with the exuberant and visionary youth group, Cassava Boys Network on a Philanthropic deed; a dream endeavour. This extreme humanitarian passion conferred on him a Brand Ambassadorial deal with Cassava Boys Network in 2017.

Phrimpong was nominated in the 'Most Influential Student in Music' category for UMB Ghana Tertiary Awards 2017 and plans touring Educational Institutions to campaign against skin bleaching with his beautiful laced piece titled “Diamonds”, which talks more on the effects of skin toning and bleaching. 

After three months hiatus off the music scene to pursue academics, the rapper returned in 2018 with a thanksgiving freestyle, dedicated to industry players for their support. He subsequently released a 'hardcore' freestyle titled 'PORN' addressing the ailing Ghanaian music industry and followed up with a bang 'Wanya Lie No' featuring Amerado and femcee Eno Barony.
