SONG FOR A BEAST Ian Parker

cleaning the slate. these are a collection of tracks I made over the last 2 years, some finished, some unfinished, that will serve as a symbolic reference point to a new "era" of my music and whatever it is i've been doing online with this stuff for the last 10 years.

I will be back eventually with what I would hope would be my first "proper" album, whatever that means. when it will be, I don't know. maybe it'll eventually exist or maybe i'll just keep uploading whatever shit i make and calling it an album, end of the day its all music. for now, feel free to enjoy the 500+ tracks I've uploaded over the last 10 years. The synth and rhythm tracks are inspired by my love of The Who. Specifically Who Are You, Won't Get Fooled Again and Baba O'Riley. Once I started adding melodies it took on its own life. That's the cool thing about recording sometimes. The song goes where it wants to regardless of how hard I try. ;-)

The text for Thursday was conceived and written by two close friends, Bridget Meeds and Kenny Berkowitz, both excellent writers who possess an acute and often exquisitely wry sense of humor. Each movement attempts to paint a literary picture of the central character by introducing various people who are related to her. The work has six short movements, each one representing a different character.
