"the one who stopped my heart" - written and performed by me, for 'heartstopper' the series

hi guys, i've been obsessed with 'heartstopper' the series lately. so i think i'd write a song about it, 'cause the story was just way too cute not to write about.

i really liked how Charlie and Nick's relationship progressed. it seemed really natural and genuine that i honestly sometimes just want to pack all my stuff and move to their universe to experience such wonderful things just once. they both healed each other and always stood by the other when they needed, and that's definitely the kind of healthy relationship i want in my lives. despite hardships, they're still always there for each other, and i really love that.

like the admin of Heartstopper’s Vietnamese fanpage said, this story sometimes really makes me jealous because it's really hard to find such a beautiful thing, such wonderful friends and such an amazing boyfriend in real life, i have to admit. but i think that's the point of the series after all, it's that it instils faith in us, helps us believe that there are still people like them and stories like this somewhere outside, and someday, we're gonna have our own version of the story too, so, i'm really grateful to all the people who made this series alive. thank you Alice, Joe, Kit, William, Yasmin, Corinna, Kizzy, Sebastian, Tobie, Rhea, Cormac, and everyone involved in making this happen for this magical world that you gave us ❤️

ur listening to a rough draft i started working on since january. my heart was sincerely pouring out on this, let me repeat, wholeheartedly. nằm bên nhau is about intimacy, as victoria said in "single white email", sex - that stuff's just porn. what lingers forever to me, is the closest moments together. 

nằm bên nhau is originally a full-length song with verse 2 already finished. i even planned to make a visualizer for it twice, a proper release to my most honest and personal thing i've ever written. but i guess it remains here, as a beautiful demo seated in my discrography. 

thank u to the emotions i've been through to be able to give birth to this baby, and thank you to the ones listening to it.

It was one afternoon in July, I was on the metro and an old lady in red shoes and a white bucket hat got on the train and sat down opposite of me just like what I wrote in the lyrics, she looked scared and shy here, with noisy and unpredictable surroundings and it made me think about life, so I was asking myself 'Are you afraid of getting old?'
 
When I wrote this song, my 21st birthday was just around the corner and unlike turning 18 with the fear in my mind of entering adulthood, now is more about hopefulness and calm and that was just the first chapter of my story 
 
I used my favourite acoustic style for this song, with a self-recorded acoustic guitar, an electric guitar and some simple drums.

(It is my first time trying to upload the songs I wrote on this platform, I have an album called '18' which was released 2 years ago on my other platforms, so I will try to upload some on here :)

r u afraid of getting old

The inspiration for this song came from one afternoon in August when I was riding the subway. I had already boarded the train and saw a few people running down the stairs, trying to catch it. But by the time they reached the doors, they had already closed. Just one door separated them from the train, and I could see the disappointment on their faces from not making it.

This scene sparked my imagination, like something out of a movie plot: the male lead racing against time to chase the female lead, only to miss the train she was on, leading to their parting. Inspired by this, I finished writing the song in under ten minutes.

The entire song is told like a story, using a reverse narrative structure. The performance style is simple and intimate—just a guitar and my voice, without any additional instrumental embellishments. The emotion is conveyed purely through the voice. When recording, I played and sang at the same time, completing the song in one take.
