’Ego Death’ examines the hero's journey, the death and rebirth of the self, with the psychedelic experience as the narrative mechanism. It’s also a story about how I was changing as a person, a chronicle of my vision, values, and aspirations as an artist during the time of writing.

I’ve been fortunate to have electronic music as a place of healing in my life, a safe space to escape into and explore. Diving into this project at the start of the global covid-19 pandemic when everything was shutting down and things felt so uncertain was a sort of coping mechanism. During the 8-10 months prior to that, I had been overcome by this feeling that I had something more I needed to tell and explore within my work, something that I had been struggling to find and understand. It wasn’t until the mandatory isolation of quarantine that I was able to really parse out and confront what I was feeling and luckily I was able to make it into something tangible. This project is the result of that process.

I think a final point I’d like to offer up is that regardless of where the story ends, there is always a place beyond it. I’ve always loved to think about the unwritten narratives that follow a story's conclusion, about what happens with the characters and places after everything is said and done. I hope that those who take the time to listen to this record will consider that side of things now that this part of my story has ended.

We couldn't be prouder to share what our artists have came back with. From harsh splittercore to soothing lofi beats to a rap about being broke, All Nighter Vol. 2 highlights the fresh talent of the URL scene. 

All money raised through sales and streams of this album will be donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America - a cause supporting children and families on low incomes. 

Everything you are about to hear has been entirely composed, produced, and mastered in the space of one day.

White Field

Happy 3/03!  The Acid Disk EP from G Jones and Eprom in 2017 really opened my eyes. I remember when 'HYSTERIA', the first single, came out so vividly: I had just arrived home and decided to put it on as I was doing chores. Very quickly, I had to stop and sit down, as it was so profoundly captivating to me.  All of the songs on that record hold a special place in my heart, and I was lucky enough to catch Eprom and G Jones on their b2b tour.  Massive thanks to them both for their work, they have inspired me so much during the 10 years I've been writing electronic music.   

The original version of this song is a masterpiece in its own right, but I find myself rarely playing 150BPM these days, and when I do DJ, I frequently make edits so that they fit within my own selection of music a bit more organically, which is how this project started. Anyway, thank you so much for reading this, and for listening. I hope you like it :)

a couple of weeks ago i decided to "remix" a tune from the 2000s that i liked a lot. at first, the main bassline seems to be the core of the track, but it quickly evolves into something bigger, surrounded by ideas which stemmed from the original track without having any direct connections to it. because this meant restructuring the entire track, i felt like the term "vision" was more appropriate than "remix", since it encapsulates my vision of what this song would sound like if it was produced today, as well as my visions of how i would musically interpret the song title "uptight".
