I'm just trying to earn some rest.
What are we racing towards?
You call it success,
I call it inefficient, purposeless excess.
Looks more like addiction—
Overcompensation for powerlessness.
Refusal to cooperate
Leaves you pursuing only excessive dominance.
I ain't about it, 
I ain't that wicked—
I just need some rest.

I'm tired.
My eyes are heavy, tear ducts leaking,
Pressure building in my head and it ain't leaving.
Back of my skull, my neck—feels like I been holding 
The world on my shoulders.
Can't put it down, who else here gonna hold her?
Trying to keep conscious,
Look like a drug addict the way I keep nodding.
I'm just tired, just need some rest.
Helps to speak it,  keeps me nodding
To the heartbeat in my chest.
Revolutionary if you believe me
And I actually rest.

Ain't trying to be the best,

Why I gotta earn permission?
My body ain't asking,
It's enforcing—far more real
Than your endorsement of success.
Inefficient, purposeless excess,
Where's the executive function in these execs?
Looks more like addiction,
Overcompensation for powerlessness.
I ain't about it, ain't that wicked—
I just need some rest.

I'm running at 30% capacity, give or take,
Creating more in a moment, giving more to life
Than you've ever made.
That's my opinion—take it or leave it.
I'm on a mission that can't be measured,
Can't be gamed.
It's called living, ever heard of it?
Might be a nice change.
Had to relearn the territory—
Your maps kept me running in circles,
Literally left me insane,
Out of body, out my mind,
Made a new map on this page.
What's broken? Ain't nobody can repair it for me—
It's mine to heal.
Win or lose, your game's not real.
Shared delusion, the hierarchy of man.
Nature will put you in your place—
Just hope I'm out of the way.
I know it will, just not when.

Trapped in the loop till you realize what you
Seeing isn’t getting nearer,
It’s always been right here.

So don't sleep tonight—not the way you've been sleeping,
That half-conscious, scroll-through-the-feed, never-fully-dreaming.
Keep your eyes free, really see:
Walk the streets, face the nightmare
Your "productivity" has left for me, for us, for we
Who are still here, still tired, still trying to breathe.

I ain't trying to be the best.
I'm just taking back my rest.
