First instrument - Clarinet when I was 7 years old. Current, and past instrument for the past 31 years - turntables and only vinyl. 

Former rave DJ/promoter. Half of the first female DJ’s to host electronic music on radio (Radio Babylon - WERS Emerson Radio 88.9). 

Forever a music nerd. Dedicated techno and house head. Prince and Siouxsie Sioux are my guardian angels. Depeche Mode, Bauhaus / Love & Rockets, Aphex Twin, Eric B & Rakim, Igor Stravinsky, Lee Perry, Chemical Brothers, and Orbital are teachers in sound and song writing.. Currently heavily GUIDED and INFLUENCED by DJ KOZE and FEVER RAY.

I want nothing more than for people to dance, feel loved, and happy, and elevate the collective vibration to shift……higher with love and not fear. 

Music and dance have always been a spiritual revolution for me, fulfilling my soul. Forever a student and a work in progress. ⚡️💗🙏🏽

Phylr is Jim Filer Coleman. Creatively diverse and/or schizophrenic, the music ranges from machine oriented beat driven mayhem to organic atmospheric ambience, usually settling in the realm of cinematic imagination. 

Historically, Coleman was an integral member of seminal post punk, post industrial band Cop Shoot Cop. He then went on to compose music for indie films and television. He has worked with directors such as Hal Hartley, Todd Phillips, Beth B, and Richard Kern. Coleman has also composed music for series and one - offs for HBO, A&E, Court TV and TLC, among others.

Coleman has released 2 albums under the name Phylr and done numerous remixes (Foetus, Young Gods, Steve Wynn etc). He has collaborated with noted Italian composer Teho Teardo as Here, and with sonic mastermind JG Thirlwell as Baby Zizanie.

He has an on again - off again band in NYC called The Children.

An ambient album entitled Trees will be released under the name Jim Coleman in 2012.

Hosting since october 2010 "Signaal/Ruis" (Dutch for Signal/Noise), a radioshow every Friday from 8 pm till 9 pm @ Radio Scorpio, 106.0 FM Leuven (Belgium).  This radioshow tries to fill the gap between sweet and raw guitarsounds.
