Preludes for a Luminous Wanderer is a single journey, told in sixteen fragments of light and shadow.

Recorded in complete improvisation.
Each one is a moment caught in motion — a step on an unmarked road where the horizon walks with you.

through silent seas, distant bells, and rain that falls like glass,
to the warmth of a luminous memory and the final drift into feathered light —
this neo-classical piano album is both a map and a mirror.

Prologue

There is no map for this journey.
It begins before the first step —
in the hush before dawn,
when the air itself seems to wait
for something only you can hear.

You carry no luggage,
only the weight of moments
you never thought would matter.
The road before you is not paved,
but made of light and shadow,
of rain that falls upward,
of waves that whisper your name.

And somewhere ahead,
a figure walks, luminous against the horizon —
not a stranger,
but the shape of your own becoming.

A fire in the sky that burns only while someone is watching.

The waves whisper words that cannot be translated.

A path that leads into the light, leaving no trace behind.

14. Prelude for a Luminous Memory
A memory that warms, even when the world has gone cold.

15. Prelude Beneath the Glass Horizon
The horizon lies under your feet, glimmering like water.

Light drifts like feathers, carrying the weight of silence.


Epilogue

You do not arrive at a place.
You arrive at a self
you did not know you had been searching for.

The luminous figure ahead
turns to face you —
and you see it has your eyes,
your hands,
your voice when you speak in dreams.

The path behind you is already gone,
swallowed by light.
You are both the wanderer and the home.

01. Con te partirò (Time to Say Goodbye)

Today, 22nd. August 2025, marks 13 years since our dear brother Bri succumbed to the deadly combination of leukaemia and Guillain-Barré syndrome.  Watching him through 2012, unable to do anything for himself and increasingly confined to a hospital bed is something none who loved him will ever forget.  
He has never been (and never will be) forgotten, not only for the music he created but for the force of nature he most certainly was.  In 1964, our Mum & Dad bought him an entry level acoustic guitar as a Christmas present and his progress on the instrument was something to behold.  By the time he was 18, he’d bought himself a Gibson Les Paul on HP (24 payments of five pounds and thirteen shillings per month) from Selmers in Charing Cross Road, London.  He joined a band, somehow co-opting me in as lead singer at the tender age of 15 (still a schoolboy, no less) and over the ensuing ten years, formed bands of whose line-up I was always a part, graduating from singing to percussion and eventually drums.
There being guitars laying around the family home, Tel took to playing and encouraged by Bri, never stopped.  Fast forward another five years and he too started writing songs so that by ’82, the 3 of us decided to form a band (Root Division) to play them.  It’s a truly special thing to be in the same band as your brothers and recording those songs became something Tel and me still remember with an abiding nostalgia.  No wonder we still talk about those days…
This song started life as an instrumental, written by Hans and of course, it’s brilliant as is but Tel liked it so much, he asked if he could write some lyrics and a vocal melody.  Being a generous fellow, our dear friend from Hamburg said he’d love to hear what Tel had in mind.
His basic idea was to incorporate as many references as he could to Cripple Club tracks, in celebration of the firm friendship we have formed in together recording what amounts to over 50 songs.  There may be a few of you who can spot one or two…
So this is for you, Bri.  We love and miss you, sweet brother.

All music is original with a few exceptions (such as new arrangements of old Christmas songs, etc.).  All music has been composed and performed with absolutely no AI-assistance.  I primarily perform and record on the Yamaha MODX8, with an occasional recording on my older Yamaha Clavinova.
