Voodoocuts kicks off the A-Side with Kelja, a raw 70s afro-funk bomb from the Ivory Coast. The American-funk inspired tune features a funky bassline & killer organ vibe, mingled with a dirty, raw saxophone line and James Brown influenced vocals. Voodoocuts' rework turns the track into a serious dancefloor banger!
In 'The Tortoise Loop' Voodoocuts blends an infectious groove with pounding drum breaks and hypnotic vocals. A hot afro-latin joint not to be missed!
On the flip SoulBrigada takes things to a disco tip. 'Hustleman' is a stunning afrofunk & disco gem from West Africa. The second track 'Madera' is an afro-disco gem with a compelling Cape Verdean groove.

@msmavy is this week's guest, coming through with a fire flip of Yikes and Throw It Back. 

Bio: 

Born in France, in 90's but originally from Guadeloupe and Cameroon, Maëva (ms mavy) has forged a unique musical identity. 

After several tests and explorations in the search for oneself, she finds her identity blending future beats, 808, tribal rhythm (afro, latino or caribbean) and soul. She produces herself via Logic Pro X, records and mixes all her songs for a while. 

Becoming a DJ after a request by bookers who enjoyed her remixes on Soundcloud, she has performed several times her songs live via Mainstage.

She has already performed as an artist in showcases, festival in France and Belgium ; and as a DJ twice since 2018 in New York, Toronto, Guyana, Pittsburgh and then thinks surely performed in the year 2019. 

Her music is an ode to Africa and the West Indies in a futuristic and optimistic setting. 

As much as her pieces may be just a vibe, a mood, or an auto - therapy from her difficult childhood, she will continue to keep this path : to communicate, to make happy, to sensitize in her way as many people as possible.
