Ghetto Swing is a new compilation with a fresh take on one of the most exciting new genre of our era, Electro Swing. Whilst keeping to the tradition that meets 1940s and 1950s sampling with 21st century style clubbing, Ghetto Swing introduces the grit and grime of hip hop, reggae and dubstep.

Compiled by London based producer and DJ Dr Cat, the album is a groove-laden mix of the vintage samples and underground music.

The original track was released in 1981 on the excellent "Two Places at The Same Time" album. 
Ray Parker Jr. is a real genius, and I can only recommend you to listen to all his 80's albums that are un-miss-able if you're digging Soul and Funk music !
There are also some other great albums that Ray Parker Jr. issued in the mid 90's.

Organs of Love are the power-sleaze duo of James McKinven (organs, love) and Alicia Matthews (vocals, love). 

James McKinven's musical odyssey started with playing synth in (Kraftwerk, Suicide-inspired) electro band Berlin Blondes. He then moved on to Altered Images. After that he worked in Genetic Studios learning from the modern day genius that was producer Martin Rushent (Human League, The Stranglers, The Buzzcocks). Then went on to form One Dove and worked with maverick genius Andy Weatherall. After that he drifted back to where it all started, Analog Electro, and Miss Alicia Matthews. 

Alicia Matthews has quite a different background – one from fine art and performance. Through working together at the same bar and having many intoxicating late night chats, they decided to try to get back to a 70s theatrical, musical PERFORMANCE: where live music and art combine for something beyond the rock gig vibe. And luckily enough, Miss Matthews has quite the pair of pipes – a true vocal delight. 

The result is ORGANS OF LOVE…who frequently perform live around Glasgow and have quite the reputation of THEE band to see. Videos can be provided, but they’re not for the faint-hearted!

Up next on Crosstown Rebels’ sub-label Rebellion is Georgia-born Stimmhalt. Dreams his debut release with the label, features alongside an entrancing remix from esteemed producer and composer Pezzner.

A vast array of digital and vinyl releases under his belt, Stimmhalt AKA David Gvaberidze makes a fine addition to the Rebellion roster. Dreams provides an excellent demonstration of his ability to combine the hard-hitting basslines with uplifting chords, an ideal early hours soundtrack. On the remix, Pezzner has bought his exceptional composition skills to the table to create a bouncy acompaniament to the original.

Inspired by his first performance at Burning Man back in 2015, David explains “...my music now is based on deep, spiritual and ethnic music.” Taking his influence from a range of genres including Asian, Arabic and Georgian folk music, Stimmhalt is not your average electronic artist. 

Having previously released on Underyourskin Records and L’enfent Terrible among others, Stimmhalt the man himself remains enigmatic, known purely for his artistic talent. Pezzner; a teacher, producer and composer of music has previously released on; Get Physical, Freerange, Visonquest and Systematic among others, and returns once more to Rebellion having released his One More EP in 2011.
