Rolling and Thatching is the second track featured in Joe Farr's RPM EP. 

On January 29th Joe Farr will make his Bloc debut with a three-track EP, titled 'RPM'.

Farr has a diverse catalogue, with three well-received releases on Turbo as well as records with DSNT, Leisure System and Power Vacuum. Few producers can claim to have remixed Tiga and been remixed by Truss.

Though Farr has an extensive history with Bloc, this will be his first outing on the label, a release that incorporates sounds that both Bloc and Joe are famed for.
The first track, 'RPM' features prominently in the Bloc festival trailer and is the soundtrack to the 2016 event. Hissing high hats and an atmospheric baseline quickly develop into an explosive anthem designed to get feet moving. 'Rolling and Thrashing' conveys an immediate punch of 90’s acid, followed by techno heavy 'Workout Three' with crunching beats and an unremitting delivery worthy of the Berghain dance floor.

Originally released on vinyl by R&S in 1994, ‘Meditation Will Manifest’ was re-earthed in 2016 by Nina Kraviz and Ricardo Villalobos, becoming a secret weapon on dancefloors 22 years after its original release. On December 16, ‘Meditation Will Manifest’ gets its first digital release on R&S.
 
Josh Wink has always been ahead of musical trends and walks his own path in dance music. From a young age Wink was exposed to different mysticism and consciousness philosophies. “It wasn’t a big, popular or trendy thing to do at the time, but I was 14 and just did what my mother did… Releasing tracks like ‘Meditation Will Manifest’ and ‘Higher States of Consciousness’, people looked at me as being this deeply profound spiritual guy, but I never really thought about it in that way, even though I’m really into repetitive, transcendental and meditative rhythms. Ontal - PI02.1

The Emergence LP is just a small part of a larger audio-visual project, with many pieces of music that feature in the live shows but not on the album. Panned is a track that came from experiments with live surround sound shows where I use 6 or more channels to create spatial forms for each piece of music. I wanted to bring this experience to a stereo format, so I created a track with every element hard panned, with some extreme sounds to enforce the effect. 

The track is also built around some experiments with looping audio through analogue pedals - distortion, ring mod and delay. I had a lot of fun pushing the limits and making them squeal in a heavy sort of way, which lent itself to this intense form of track. (I also used some of the results in Trust, in a more subtle form).

That intensity was something which seemed a better fit for Joe than the normal album tracks, and I love his work and was keen to get him involved with the project, so we jumped in with a remix of Panned.

Max Cooper has a vested interest in the intersection of scientific inquiry and forward-thinking electronic music. On his latest album Emergence, for instance, Cooper sought to capture the idea of complex forms of life arising from simple physical laws, told through the dreamy guise of an organic IDM record.

Emergence has now received its official remix package, courtesy of some of the most innovative minds in electronic music like Rival Consoles, Christian Löffler, John Tejada and more. Dancing Astronaut has the privilege of premiering Patrice Bäumel's rendition of "Organa," which continues the Dutchman's seemingly infallible streak of big remixes.

Young French producer Deapmash has collaborated with Benjamin Damage to deliver the banging, highly serrated track 'Solar 909'.

Premiering via Mixmag, the sharp, echoing production is one of three tracks the artist makes his Leisure System debut on with the 'Halcyon' EP. The collection drops as part of the GRIDLOCK series off the Berlin imprint, focusing on dance floor-designed vinyl.

Although a relatively fresh face, Deapmash has already seen releases on Boysnoize Records and Soul Notes with support from Truss, Paula Temple and Tessela.

On 'Solar 909' the newcomer flexes his signature techno meets breakbeat style with a definitive edge from Benjamin Damage in the form of jagged, bouncing elements.

Deapmash's 'Halcyon' EP also includes two original solo tracks, releasing on May 12.

The Roman label CRS comes back after a long break with an impressive various artists. The third vinyl release presents a selection of artists who reflect the dark and industrial sound typical of the “ltd” series. Side A includes a track from the project of the Serbian artist Scalameriya and the label owner VSK, known for their releases on Power Vacuum and Perc Trax, and a track from the Serbian duo Ontal (Darkfloor sound, Overdraw, Mord). Side B is signed by the Italian Ayarcana (Parachute) and the French artist Yura Yura from Hands Records.
