On the the a-side he ups the intensity once again with pure squealing machine funk in the form of ‘Modular Framework’ & ‘Displacer’.

The flip contains 2 menacing remixes of ‘Displacer’ by Sleeparchive, an inspiration to both Ctrls & Token. We never hoped for a match this perfect.

Hardened Chord

Rolling and Thatching is the second track featured in Joe Farr's RPM EP. 

On January 29th Joe Farr will make his Bloc debut with a three-track EP, titled 'RPM'.

Farr has a diverse catalogue, with three well-received releases on Turbo as well as records with DSNT, Leisure System and Power Vacuum. Few producers can claim to have remixed Tiga and been remixed by Truss.

Though Farr has an extensive history with Bloc, this will be his first outing on the label, a release that incorporates sounds that both Bloc and Joe are famed for.
The first track, 'RPM' features prominently in the Bloc festival trailer and is the soundtrack to the 2016 event. Hissing high hats and an atmospheric baseline quickly develop into an explosive anthem designed to get feet moving. 'Rolling and Thrashing' conveys an immediate punch of 90’s acid, followed by techno heavy 'Workout Three' with crunching beats and an unremitting delivery worthy of the Berghain dance floor.

Tiga is back to tell you what you’ve always needed to hear with his new single “Eye Luv U.” Co-produced by one half of Paranoid London, the new single harnesses all the pure source energy of what enlightened club-goers often describe as their favourite emotion. 

“The title came to me while I was playing a pyramid that had been converted into a multi-purpose event space,” says the Canadian DJ/Producer. "The hieroglyphics over what is now the coat check made me imagine a world in which pictures could mean words and words could mean anything. The thing about wordplay is that it’s fascinating to conceive of different realities informed by different systems of meaning, and how each reality would invariably bend to vault me to the pinnacle of all possible worlds. It’s humbling, really.”

Rising Scottish talent Jasper James darkens the tone considerably on his remix, which would not be out of place at a classic off-the-grid warehouse rave. But not so fast, because Butch’s equally great “80s Warehouse Acid Remix” also lays claim to that warehouse, challenging what it means to be “warehouse” in an age when corporations pay people to throw parties in what used to be underground settings. 

“Warehouse is a state of mind,” adds Tiga helpfully. “It’s that indescribable feeling that transports you back to the first time you read an oral history about dance culture. I read one sponsored by Mountain Dew about three years ago, and I’ve never looked back.”

After appearing on A-Sides Volume 4 at the start of 2016, Ilario Alicante now makes his full debut on the label. He has quickly established himself as a key player amongst a new crop of techno artists and truly is one of the brightest stars in the game. His skills behind the decks have seen him tour the globe with Cocoon, as well as appear at the likes of elrow, Lovefest and We Are FSTVL.

Opening with ‘Times’, the EP gets off to a flying start as the track rages straight into top gear, rolling through 6 minutes of pure power. This is a peak time tool that is set to be heard across dance floors worldwide this year. ‘Awakened’ you may have heard from Adam Beyer’s sets of late, a firm favourite which gets his much sought after seal of approval. Rampant syths and mesmerizing vocal hooks all make it one hell of a journey. ‘Sense’ is a more industrial affair, chunky basslines take your hand through the track as it charges on. It’s that classic deep Ilario Alicante sound we all know and love. The EP finishes off on ‘Apogeo’, with its hypnotic siren tones and acute percussion. One thing is for sure, Ilario Alicante is in a league of his own.

Carl Cox is an industry figure head whos legacy in music includes his iconic label Intec, which he runs with friend and business partner Jon Rundell.

Techno focused the labels roster includes people like Nicole Moudaber, Harvey McKay, Sidney Charles plus Josh Wink, and the new release is from Saeed Younan.

Saeed Younan is one of America's top DJs, who for four years running was voted one of the worlds top 100 DJs by DJ Times, which is America's leading print publication for electronic music.

Based in Washington DC, Saeed is a popular headliner who has played everywhere from Ibiza to Tokyo, and is famed for his high energy style that fuses tribal groves with techy synth work and infectious vocal hooks.

Not only a well-travelled and successful DJ, Saeed is also an accomplished producer, who along with releases on his own label Younan Music, has featured on imprints such as Great Stuff Recordings, Spinnin' Records, Suara and Toolroom.

Having made his first appearance on Carl Cox's much famed Intec imprint in 2015, its now time for the much anticipated follow up.

"Annihilate" starts with rumbling tom drums that create the bassline and lay the foundation for the tracks rolling groove. Relentless hi-hats provide a forward momentum that adds to the menacing tension created by the vocal sample, from where track gets its title. A fusion of moods, the euphoric lead sound provides uplifting warmth, which contrasts with the overall dark and driving atmosphere.

"Pimp Slap" is percussion lead with was a primal groove typical of Saeeds much loved trademark sound. Synths are used to build suspense and the dramatic vocal stabs become hypnotic as the track progresses. Simple yet effective the main feature is a series of dancefloor focused drops where things strip back only to slam back in with increased impact and an eruption of energy.

The Emergence LP is just a small part of a larger audio-visual project, with many pieces of music that feature in the live shows but not on the album. Panned is a track that came from experiments with live surround sound shows where I use 6 or more channels to create spatial forms for each piece of music. I wanted to bring this experience to a stereo format, so I created a track with every element hard panned, with some extreme sounds to enforce the effect. 

The track is also built around some experiments with looping audio through analogue pedals - distortion, ring mod and delay. I had a lot of fun pushing the limits and making them squeal in a heavy sort of way, which lent itself to this intense form of track. (I also used some of the results in Trust, in a more subtle form).

That intensity was something which seemed a better fit for Joe than the normal album tracks, and I love his work and was keen to get him involved with the project, so we jumped in with a remix of Panned.

Max Cooper has a vested interest in the intersection of scientific inquiry and forward-thinking electronic music. On his latest album Emergence, for instance, Cooper sought to capture the idea of complex forms of life arising from simple physical laws, told through the dreamy guise of an organic IDM record.

Emergence has now received its official remix package, courtesy of some of the most innovative minds in electronic music like Rival Consoles, Christian Löffler, John Tejada and more. Dancing Astronaut has the privilege of premiering Patrice Bäumel's rendition of "Organa," which continues the Dutchman's seemingly infallible streak of big remixes.

"The Techno Wave" was the first single released in 1990 by this famous project created by Jens Lissat and Ramon Zenker (Hardfloor). One of the most well-known tracks of the so called Frankfurt Tekkno scene that invaded Germany during the early 90s. This re-issue includes the original “Castle Mix", the b-side “The Bass is on Fire” and a new killer remix prepared by Ancient Methods who described “The Techno Wave" as "one of the influential tracks that brought me alongside Zoth Ommog and R&S into techno".
