Marking the eighth instalment in the increasingly popular series, Kittball Konspiracy returns with nine outstanding tracks from a range of talented producers in Volume 8. Whether fresh-faced names like Fat Sushi, Ikaro and Julian Thomas, or familiar Kittball faces such as In.deed and Juliet Sikora, the selection is one that epitomizes the imprints signature uplifting and hedonistic vibe, whilst remaining eclectic and compelling throughout. 

Straight from the off In.deed’s ‘Turn Me On’ is an enriching display of funky guitar work and summertime synths, whereas Juliet Sikora and Flo Mrzdk’s collaboration on ‘Bodyloop’ settles for a compelling groove, sinister low-end and infectious vocal. Eddie M then demonstrates his ability to forge a heady hook in ‘I Don’t Want You’, a contrast to the soothing sounds subsequently heard in Fat Sushi & Benjamin Franklin’s ‘Talking To The Moon’. 

Next up Ikaro provides a beautiful rolling number by the name of ‘Waxwing’, before Corey Gibbons drops a deeply rich production by the name of ‘Gravity’. Things then get funkier with Julian Thomas’ house renovation of ‘Gotta Serve Somebody’, followed by a loopy number named ‘I Need You’ from Guzzle, before finishing up on an energetic production from Salvatore Polizzi called ‘We Are One’.

After a couple mellow releases we are back with a track for the bigger clubs.
The original mix from Björn Mandry reminds us of Underworlds-Dark &amp; Long (Darktrain).
Daso is taking it to another level and we would love to dance under the stars to this one.

After the stellar Nunchi EP on the Moodmusic label last year, the ever more acclaimed Ed Ed is now back with his standout follow up, the Namaimo EP. It features four cuts of typically absorbing house music and marks his most impressive work to date.
Ed Ed is Edmond Weinfeld, a Berlin based producer who has also released on OFF, had a big single on Defected’s DFTD last year and also A&Rs for the Moodmusic label. His music roams from deep house to techno and back again and he places great emphasis on clean lines, vibrant bass and a cool sense of energy, as this new and mature musical work proves.
Up first is the tantalising title track, a broody seven minute opus defined by its big bold bass strokes. Slick percussion and rolling kicks form the groove down below, but that bass is what sticks out, as well as some lithe and sci-fi synths that perform acrobatics up top.
‘Lilly (My Love Is Away)’ comes next and is less settled in a groove. Instead it has squelchy drums and perc making for a more turbulent rhythm that has big bass and subtle little chords running right through it. Shady and atmospheric and full of late night menace, it is a well balanced track once more.
The striking ‘Sentinel’ proves Ed Ed can programme tight, corrugated drum lines and crisp, snapping perc that makes you want to dance a physical dance, and when the tender male vocals come in you really are carried away to a better place. Last but not least, ‘Starsign’ marries deep house drums with explosive and starry melodies, big blasts of frazzled synth and plenty of colourful intergalactic soul. It’s a real head turner, for sure.
Ed Ed is fast becoming one of the most essential house producers of his day. This EP is a fine statement of intent and is one that will move DJs and dancers in emotive ways.

Before the release of the superb Body Language Vol. 21 by Djuma
Soundsystem, Get Physical are dropping a taster EP from it featuring three fantastic tracks.

All three cuts are originals or remixes by Djuma himself, and that is also the case on the full mix. He is a Norwegian artist known for serving magical tribal groove imbued with deep feelings and melodious rhythms, and that is showcased again on this EP.

Up first he links with Demian Muller featuring Y.O.G.A. for ‘Mamey’, it is a beautifully organic track with spring-like percussion and languid drums overlaid with bird calls and spiritual keys.

Djuma then serves up a Tribal Dub of Robosonic feat. Son Little’s ‘Drowning’, a chunky, dubbed out cut with fat drums and yawning synths that extend to the skies. It’s a wide open and expansive groove and one to get the whole club under its spell.

Last of all, his attention turns to Oliver Schories’ ‘Fields Without Fences,’ which he skillfully flips into a spine-tingling deep house track. The exquisite vocals are left to make their mark up top as a gentle tumble of drums and hits gets your hips swaying down low.

This essential EP is a great window into the fantastic full mix to come.

German duo Piemont has proven itself to be an absolute production power-house over the last decade. Made up of long-time friends Frederic and Chris, the pair first decided to hook up and make music together back in 2007 and, since then, have gone on to establish themselves as one of the foremost partnerships in techno and have been releasing Music on acclaimed labels like Monaberry, Lapsus Music, Glasgow Underground, Exploited and Toolroom. 

In 2017 they started their own label 'Moonless Air' with the aim of creating a place of creativity for Piemont's own sound.
