The Funky Boulevards hits Europe after a 15 years career in Brazil.

Brazilian-born Italian DJ Giovanni Pierobom Vicentin, aka The Funky Boulevards, is a resident at AlpiNN, in the Dolomites.

Heavily influenced by acid jazz, disco and funk, The Funky Boulevards brings in his bag almost 15 years of relationship with music from Brazil to Treviso, Italy. Drawing from House and related genres, seasoned with smooth nuances of soul, hip hop and funk, the solo DJ is a master at delivering vibe-drenched sets.

There’s a beat for everyone - from underground lovers to mainstream pop listeners, who will notice the DJ’s appreciation for the likes of Jamiroquai, Frankie Knuckles, Prince, Mark Farina, Scott Diaz, and Dennis Ferrer and the list go on.

The setup pays a clear homage to the old timers and new househeads: analog record players and digital controllers share the same space. Spinning vinyl is a non-negotiable clause for Giovanni, a music lover.

Currently, the focus is on creating amazing sets, but original productions are coming pretty soon.

From Brazil to Italy

The Funky Boulevards had its grounds in Curitiba, southern Brazil, breaking through the status quo at the time. Establishing himself as a reference in the city, he soon became part of a joint project with a nationwide radio station as a resident.

Fans saw the advent of The Factory Sessions weekly radio show a couple of years later, livestreamed globally through Digitally Imported FM, reaching audience from Amsterdam to New York City. That brought visibility and partnerships that led to the creation of the Connection Festival, in 2012, as co-founder and resident DJ. In 2017, shortly before relocating to Europe, he was curating for The Groove, a radio program with national broadcast through one of Brazil’s largest radio stations, Transamérica.
