“Taking inspiration from a footnote of an Oliver Sacks book, lyrically this explores the phenomenon of musical hallucinations. As I was piecing the lyrics together I quickly realised that in this “a brain storm” is a metaphor for a misunderstood, long term condition with varying degrees of ever changing intensity; Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome definitely inspired my lyric writing for this song (kindly follow the link to the HEDS society in my bio to learn more. Thank you). Leaning into the nostalgic live basement recording sounds of 1990’s alternative music there is definitely a Wheatus, Green Day, Third Eye Blind sound and it gets a little The Cure in places on this one. I also wanted the scrapbook sounds of “Save Rock and Roll” era Fall Out Boy. 

I revisited this as I wanted to cut a new vocal and when doing so I decided to explore a new mix - see what you think of this new version. Thank you.”

Here is the continuation of the first piece "Resonances." The inspiration for "Resonances II" lies in an expressive search where contrasts of tempo, harmonies, and intensity of play dominate. This series pays tribute to the expressiveness of masters such as Rachmaninoff, as was the case for the first "Resonances," but also to film music. I hope you enjoy listening, and have a good Sunday everyone!

Voici la suite du premier morceau « Résonances ». L’inspiration de « Résonances II » réside dans une recherche expressive où dominent les contrastes de tempo, d’harmonies, et d’intensité de jeu. Cette série rend hommage à l’expressivité des maîtres tels que Rachmaninov, comme pour le premier « Résonances », mais aussi à la musique de film. Résonances II

Pieter Rotthier - Belgian artist, based in Antwerp. He produces electronic music, a blend of techno, house, ambient and experimental electronics. His music has often a darker or more melancholic vibe. It is danceable, but it also serves as a soundtrack for movies, that yet have to be made.

Quick on the drawing is also a visual artist, making drawings (hence the name), paintings and illustrations. The artwork of the tracks are exclusively made by Quick on the drawing.
