What’s that scurrying in the wainscoting?
Must be the Rat King!
Who’s that wheeling on a head of cheese?
That must be him!
The one to incite all the mice
The one to knight the pawns
The one whose bite has a devastating price
The one whose nails are always drawn
—And he has come for you, dear!

Who’s that handing out the rotted cheese?
Of course it’s the Rat King!
Who’s that riling up the young mice-ees?
(That’s him, too!)
He’s got no scruples ‘bout beguiling young dupils 
He’s got a flexible spine
He’s got no thought but to choke you with his garrote
He’s got a steely twine
—And he has come for you, dear!

The carpet of mice ripples as they wriggle
Erecting with their bodies a pelt dais
Shocked, you scramble up upon your table
To hear the raised Rat King launch his dispraise
His topic is the failings of your being
His words hurt, but there shall be no appealing
For now the mice are on the dash for vengeance
As one the mischief rises like a god’s hand
And strikes with bites of wrath which is your sentence
As with your tongue are you gagged
And then they scurry sated back to their holes
Back to their holes

Tragedy when party’s over
All your friends are short long-goners
Memories of wrathful feasts that never ceased have now turned bitter
Like the joke that now has laughed you
From the clique-clack of the who’s who
To the oblivion of your fall-through
Shamed and shunned and smeared and jeered and devoured full alive

In what colors 
does love slink off in... 
a most unfashionable way
are they deep blues that 
finger-paint your 
heart with deep despair
does love’s exit hold 
some yellow because 
you refused to even 
try to make it stay. 
one must never fear
a dying love 
one must work 
desperately to put the 
pink back in its cheeks
kissing all of its wounds
in hopes for a healing.
mouth to mouth 
resuscitation tenderly 
applied has been 
known to work +
if he or she permits it 

sSometimes it leaves 
you green with envy
because it ran off
with another love
to paint the town red
as red as your face 
when you realize 
that it just up and 
left you bereft...bereft 

Love that is failing
turns a very pale flesh
when it is no longer fresh
your lips are left pressed
into tight lines
that frame the 
white canvas
emptied of you 
that it left behind. 

And as love escapes 
it turns pitch black
miming your own nights 
alone in the ebony shadows
staring back at all 
the much more 
colorful memories 
it once shared.

Life without love is colorless
and always leads to the question??

What color is hate?
purple like a bruise
left festering in your soul,
scarlet like a blood spill
when angst turns love 
into scattered corpses
silver like a bullet or knife
entering the heart 
to replace and remove forever 
any trace of love.
far more often it is 
the gray of apathy
because no one cares 
to be hated
to be slated as an outcast

Hate might someday be
revealed in a vast 
orange mushroom
eliminating all of love’s color
under a dictator’s desire
to lay the world to waste

Dictators are the colors
of mausoleums, 
because they seek 
to fill them 

Sometimes only the 
colors of khaki
can save loves’s
cruel extinctions….
and so loved 
ones are sent
in navy blues and 
camouflaged tans
and military greens to 
snuff the lives out 
of all of those who 
don’t love them.
but they too have loved ones
who have lost them
to the smoke colored
stench of war.

And it then due to hate
that love is the color
if many tears falling
which transparently
evaporate over the blush
of flesh colored cheeks
leaving only wet trails of
memories behind....................

We must love the world,
We must Love our fellowmen,
or someday the wprld will be
an empty, lifeless rock,,,,,,
holding nothing but ashes
forever............................"

I don't need words to speak and neither do you; neither does God. We don't need to speak to be heard. The Word is stronger than that. We can be a verb in motion on the ocean of currently vibing waves and ways of the universe. Free from the worst of the curses of the earth and versing our way past the worst of it, to know more than a thirst for the purse. Literal time is wasted not speaking less and doing more, for a chore is more important than a thought when it's finished. Love is the finish line, but shred guitar is the electric current of intention, no mention of word, only the tension of a string unchanged and undemented.

Speakless 2022

Quite possibly my darkest track to date, around the idea of an imaginary desolate landscape that has been destroyed over time. This is also probably my first track which has more of a film music feel to it. I have used mostly orchestral instruments with some experimental synths and extra sounds as always though!

Practiced pluck of violins
