As if it wasn't enough for them to secure the services of French artist Evenn for the 'One For Love EP', the Selections label has done the double on its ninth release and enlisted none other than Detroit's Javonntte to remix the title track. 

The original is almost the definition of deep house - gorgeous strings and pads you could almost drown in, a female vocal eased on by an uplifting piano and silky beats reclining at a moderate but insistent pace. Javonntte's mix keeps the vocals intact but chops and changes a little more beatswise and has its head somewhere a little spacier, both in terms of its Mayday-esque bass end bleeps and celestial pads. Kicking off the B-side, 'Inspiration' is more of a hypnotic, looped up affair, as is the speedier and heavier close to proceedings 'Round N Round', making good use of the filter functions and disco vibes from the past.

Navas makes his BAU_HAUS debut with 'You Got Me EP', a four-track collection that bridges the energy of modern electronica and indie dance with the spirit of ’90s rave culture. At its heart lies the title track 'You Got Me', a reimagining of a vocal from Liquid Crystal’s 1993 classic.

The rest of the EP expands on that ethos with a series of bold stylistic turns. 'Open Your Mind' flips a nod to Adam Beyer into a breaks reinterpretation. 'Deeper Your Love' dives into hypnotic territory while closing track 'Closer' combines indie dance with a dark vocal.

Piff Records continues to unravel its catalogue by calling on an artist slightly closer to home. Cardiff-based @harrisonbdp adds to his already prolific discography with an EP that spans from mellow dub techno vibrations, all the way up to wide-open, rave-driven acid riffs. 

Harrison’s A-side revels in a deep pool of soft bubbling synth chords, moulded to the backdrop of tight rolling drum work and occasionally teasing the wider, heavier energies to be found on the flip.

The B side ripples with ricocheting, delay-laden soundscapes, rock-solid drums lines, and nostalgic lead synth lines that make you glad that you’ve caught on to this talented producer early on in his promising career.

Outplay was founded in 2012 by Dutch producer duo Fouk, otherwise known as Daniel Leseman & Junktion.  The label focuses on the deeper side of house and for their next release it’s a three track affair by the elusive and ever so mysterious Clive from accounts.
 
Number cruncher extra-ordinaire by day, brilliant music producer by night, Outplay are pretty amped to release this EP by the self proclaimed “regional tiddlywinks champion” and “all-round beige sky thinker” Clive.  Who says office workers are drones? Loitering around the coffee machine surely has had no bad effect on his creative juices.  
 
Clive first sent in a one track demo of “Bisou” and the label was blown away by the top notch production quality, feeling that it really stood out from anything else in their inbox.  Over the course of a year Outplay asked Clive to fill out an EP.  The end result is a record with three very strong tracks, each with its own character.  “Keep Movin” is perfect for big dance floors and filthy sweaty clubs.  The title track “The Trouble With Clive” has that big beefy garage effect going on.  The EP closes out with “Bisou” - a floaty warm stabby breaks affair with nods to the classic deep house sound.   Oh ….and I’m supposed to tell you that it’s Hawaiian shirt day on Friday!
