Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, ‘Satellite’, by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini.

Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin’s Plus8, Sven Vath’s Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like ‘Zoe’, ‘Polyester’ and ‘Fire In My Arms’, all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game.

Incredibly, ‘Satellite’ is Sam’s first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off.

From there it’s a case of getting straight down to business. ‘Another Chance’ is a spacey bit of cantering techno and ‘White’ is rooted in devastating kick drums and is riddled with serrated synth lines that build lots of great techno pressure. ‘Down’ is an undulating bit of funky techno complete with choice vocal flourishes and tracks like ‘Lotus’ are prime offerings from the deeper end of the scale.

No two tracks sound the same on Satellite: Sam is always teasing out a new bit of texture, nailing a slightly different vibe or exploring different amounts of light and dark throughout the course of this most excellent album. This is evidenced by diverse cuts like ‘Dusty’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Rave’.

Despite ‘Satellite’ being Sam’s debut album, it showcases his seductive style in all its glory across 12 fantastic tracks that will leave you begging for more.

What better way to mark the 20th anniversary of Tronic, his forward-thinking label, than creating a new artist album? Christian Smith stands out as one of the worlds leading exponents of inventive, diverse techno and Stranger Than Paradise continues his enthralling, ever-evolving musical journey with aplomb. The fact that Tronic is one of the Top 5 selling techno labels in the world is a mark of a man who stands for nothing less than pure quality. 
Having previously released benchmark, critically acclaimed LPs Omakase (2013) and Directors Cut (2010) Christian Smith is no stranger to creating supreme, danceoor orientated albums, that explore and showcase his diverse musical style. Both as a DJ and producer, he is always innovative and bold, a leader not a follower. 
Alongside the jaw-dropping excellence of the solo tracks, this new album also features dynamic, inventive collaborations with Wehbba (Christians great friend and regular collaborator), the New York based house music legend Cevin Fisher, long-time studio collaborator John Selway (of Smith &amp; Selway fame), and Christians childhood friend and hip-hop artist Arcturus Ra. 
The Stranger Than Paradise album project will be unveiled rst as four singles released at weekly intervals through the month of October, with the full album release following in the rst week of November on 12 vinyl and digital formats. An album remix pack will be released in December.

It takes a lot to achieve the status of ‘legendary’ or ‘era-defining’ in dance music, it’s sands shift so quickly artists, genres and labels have often come and gone before you realise. So it’s with some pride and deserved justification that Yoshitoshi marks its 20th anniversary with celebratory remix packages of its most iconic tracks. Already riding high in the Beatport charts with the success of the Uto Karem and Robosonic mixes of Eddie Amador’s ‘House Music’, the latter of which has spent the past month in the overall top 5, the label now plans a one, two punch with the follow-up: Alcatraz’ seminal ‘Giv Me Luv’.

“We thought long and hard about how we scheduled this 20th anniversary project,” says label boss Sharam, “little point launching big and then following up with a whimper so we deliberately chose Alcatraz for this difficult task. But the challenge didn’t end there; a massive record still deserves a massive remix and I think it’s safe to say we found the perfect woman for the job...”

Step forward undisputed techno titan Nicole Moudaber who leapt at the opportunity to remix the track. “I’ve got so many fond memories of ‘Giv Me Luv’, it was one of my favourite tunes from my formative clubbing days,” recalls Nicole happily, “so, when Yoshi mentioned the idea of me remix-ing it I just couldn’t say no. In fact I was so familiar with Alcatraz I was already awash with ideas of what I could, or should, do with it. As I got into the mix one of those ideas just grew and grew, namely an extended breakdown that constantly builds; layering the memorable vocal to an intense pay-off and (hopeful) moment of real dancefloor drama.” 

Nicole’s humble description doesn’t quite do the end result justice, which is a modern, masterful take on the classic. Her iconic techno beats, dark twisted stabs and arrangement of ‘that’ bassline drive toward the mentioned break, which will undoubtedly rival the fireworks of any impending NYE celebrations. In fact, expect this track to be THE soundtrack to many a dance floor come the all important hand-over to 2015.

And, just in case that weren’t enough, Yoshi has also secured the skills of Tent Cantrelle to deliver the perfect deep house foil to Nicole’s techno ferocity as Sharam concludes, “We wanted a real slice of contemporary funk from the companion mix. Yoshi is synonymous with exploring the line between deep house and techno, perhaps no more so than during its formative years, so this re-mix completes the package perfectly.”

Adam Beyer is back on Drumcode with an impressive array of tracks that will get the senses tingling and shows us what Drumcode is all about. These 4 tracks are deep and almost melancholic in their approach to techno, using effects to really help enforce an ambience only Beyer can achieve within his productions. The under lying throbbing of the drums drives this EP into the forefront of the heads down Drumcode sound and have been heard in many of Beyer’s phenomenal sets throughout the year.

Label boss Sasha Carassi takes control of the situation and delivers the futuristic &#8220;Echoes&#8221;, which is led by haunting synths and arpeggiated intricacies, all coming together to form a nostalgic vibe, while the persistent rhythm section chugs away and commanding vocal snippets keep the heads down. Things tense up a bit on &#8220;Clorophilia&#8221; where we are treated to growling synthesis and mutating, analog goodness, leaving clever effects to fill in the gaps and keep the suspense level high.

After the success of Powers of Ten, Stephan Bodzin's latest and greatest full length, the German tastemaker has now invited a key selection of artists to remix tracks from it. This great collection will be released digitally—with two bonus remixes by Super Flu and Marc Romboy—as well as on vinyl on the 18th December 2015. The original album came in June on Bodzin's own Herzblut Recordings and was a hugely personal affair that has been played far and wide by DJs and danced to by clubbers all over the world. Now breathing fresh life and different perspectives into the original source material are the likes of big name stars Maceo Plex & Shall Ochin, Fur Coat, Extrawelt, long time musical sparring partner Marc Romboy, Pan Pot, Max Cooper, Agents of Time, Dominik Eulberg and many more. Things kick off with Ellum Audio boss Maceo Plex and Shall Ocin, who flip 'Powers of Ten' into a serene and slow burning track full of spiritual synth lines and heavenly pads, before Spanish pair Edu Imbernon and Coyu work their magic on 'Wir' and reimagine it as a sumptuous and slow burning tech track with a droning baseline and cosmic melodies. Influential Crosstown Rebels act Fur Coat then tackle 'Singularity' and cook up a brooding, elongated main room track that locks you into its groove and never lets you go. Next, long time Bodzin collaborator and friend Marc Romboy makes 'Ix' into a tense tech tool that balances on a knife edge as menacing bass roams and rolls below. From there, Cocoon team and live specialists Extrawelt makes 'Blue Giant' into a spooky minimal cut that is full of haunting atmosphere, festival headlining Second State pair Pan-Pot then offer lots of tense groove and sombre machine melodies on their version of 'Zulu.' In the second half there are dark remixes from Max Cooper, intense synth jams from Agents of Time, typically beautiful and musical offerings from Dominik Eulberg, tripped out techno rollers from Gabriel Ananda and two digital only remixes of 'Birth' that are deep and inviting from Super Flu and clean, reflective and soothing from Marc Romboy. Monoloc also comes up with the goods on his deep and dubby remix of 'Singularity'. This collection plays out almost like a mix, taking you up and down and through many different styles of electronic music, each as absorbing and essential as the next, and that's all thanks to the on point and informed A&R of label boss Stephan Bodzin.

Paride Saraceni’s debut Truesoul release, ‘Burning’, brings us three uplifting and vocal-heavy tech house tracks. A steady groove throughout, Saraceni’s choice of instrumentation and flowing percussion create a melodic yet techy release with all three tracks laced with a solid kick drum, tinkering high hats and sporadic vocals. ‘Burning’ is is the perfect offering for the new year and proves there are big things on the horizon for Saraceni.

Bardem is all about that hypnotizing lead, playing almost throughout the whole track. And since we like simple track ideas it just plays a few chords with slight filter automations, accent changes and a subtle delay. But still, or maybe because of that, it simply grabs the listener from the very first moment it appears and keeps reality unplugged until it fades with the last bar of the song. During that time you could be anywhere between a 90ties Warehouse Rave in Chicago, a festival somewhere around the world a few years ago or at Panorama Bar this Sunday morning.

And just when you think you are losing it the bass line grabs you and lifts you back up onto the shoulders of that classic Techno groove carrying you over the dance floor!

A return to the source: ‘Ribcage’ is where it all began for the Dubfire project. After years of exploring, subverting and setting brave new benchmarks in the house world, this marked the start of Ali Shirazinia setting out to set the same creative benchmarks in techno. Restrained, drawn-out but beastly when it wanted to be, the original was a serious statement of intent. Even at the time you got a sense it was going to be a historic tune. Loco Dice especially felt that when he signed it to Desolat 10 years ago.

To celebrate this time-flying milestone, Dubfire’s recruited two of the most respected names possible for remix duties. First up, the unstoppable, unavoidable, unquenchable Dense & Pika who keep within the dramatic rising template but with a whole new set of instruments and textures… And a percussion palette that absolutely sizzles when the whole groove kicks in mid-way. Phenomenal.

Hot on their heels comes a unique remix invitation to On-U legend and one of the UK’s most decorated and treasured studio controllers Adrian Sherwood. Turning in a serious techno re-cut that pays tribute to every element and takes over 12 minutes to make sure they each shine amid the head-twisting pools of tripped-out decay, it’s clear his time with Pinch has had a profound effect.
Two incredibly well considered and detailed remixes that remind you what remixes should be… Brave new chapters of a story we all love being told. These will sound great when the 20th anniversary remixes are commissioned in 2027.

After the positive reactions on "Diablo", Oliver and I naturally decided to dive into a follow-up (with a rather appropriate title)! Not sure why we chose Spanish names but we seemed to be onto a good thing so we decided to keep nurturing those creative instincts. We had quite a few ideas going back and forth with this one, hence the two-part approach to the final version. Conceptually and with the working title, we wanted to take a lighter approach to this one, creating something less sinister than "Diablo" and I think that we succeeded nicely, helping to eventually take things into our "Elements" series. I should also mention how excited we were to have a brilliant Gaiser mix for this! - Dubfire
