For the occasion of Indian Independence Day, I made this club bootleg version of "Jana Gana Mana", the national anthem.

Ever since I was a kid, this composition by the great Rabindranath Tagore held a certain poignancy and immediacy. Such a simple melody and lyrics symbolizing the scope of a diverse, sprawling union of peoples. With my electronic version, I seek to modernize this aspect of the tune and represent the Indian youth of today, marching on with one foot in the past and the other firmly planted in the future. 

The inspiration for re-creating this song in this style came 2 years ago when I was travelling through U.P. and Bihar during Holi time. I saw children aged 15 and younger gathering outdoors in the streets and villages with huge soundsystems blasting E.D.M. and dancing like mad, with almost no parental supervision. I wanted to try to create something for them, a culture clash that represents modern India through their eyes and ears and hearts.

I had a vision for this Remix : Progressive House + Trap in Verse 2 which then climaxes into Progressive House Again. All said & done, This was executed exactly the way I wanted it to sound like.
