The second Lobster Theremin white label comes from the mysterious Australian producer, Daze. Making his release debut with four original tracks, Daze covers varying strains of tough melodic house, ferocious acid and old school breakbeat, taking us on an experiential journey into the heart of British rave culture via Detroit-influenced electro and rough and ready tape jams. 

Opening with an overdriven call to action, Drag Ball traverses the lines between synth-driven house and scorched techno, pulsating with cracked clap-snare derivatives and soothing yet slightly paranoid Juno lines. 

Untitled signals the beginning of the generally classic slant of the EP, channeling hair-raising acid lines under some crunchy electro drum programming. But it's the soaring synths that set it apart, floating aloft the bubbling madness below. 

On the flip there are two mixes of title track Lips.. The '94 Original DAT Dub having been culled raw from the source providing a deeper and less immediate take on an euphoric modern classic. The revised '07 Skyline Mix sees the mix brightened and pumped up for serious systems, with the extra-layered pads making that euphoric mid-section feel like ten pills rather than two.

LTWHT002 // Daze - Lips

Trilucid teamed up with Brett Gould to release The Purpose in August 2025 — a progressive house bomb dropped via the peerless Global Underground. The track picked up support from a wide range of tastemakers including Guy J, Sven Väth, Quivver, Paul Thomas, Sister Bliss, Nick Muir, Braxton and many more.
Following the original release, Trilucid returned to the project with a darker, more underground interpretation. The result is The Purpose (Drum Dub), a moody, rolling, techno-infused rework featuring huge Zimmer-inspired stabs in the breakdown, providing a distinctive and cinematic take that pushes the track into deeper territory.

Lets go Rx

The Lobster white label series finally gets back into gear with a sublime five-track scorcher from core London member Luke Palmer aka Ozel AB. 

After firing some deafening shots with last year's Crimes EP - which burrowed deep into some seriously trippy and journey'd house, techno and acid -Valis sees Palmer develop those evolving arrangement ideas across five very different soundboards that bring his signature brain-fuzzed deepness, rubbery acid and dubbed-out sound design to the fore. 

Allejo is the morphing club slayer, built on a stack of crystalline synths that slowly breakaway into a gutter full of tumbling basslines and shuttered chord stabs. Proper heat that's been battered by the LT fam since early last year. 

Down The Cut is a deep and mysterious cut, channeling Palmer's knack for paranoid atmospheres and suspended tension into a cloak 'n' dagger style spy pursuit. All moving shadows and shifting figures under late night lamp light. 

Built around a bubbling and squelching synth loop, Glow is the central ambient skit providing a pivot point and gateway to the flip-side of the EP, where live favourite and full extended jam Stoosh 95 opens proceedings. Almost a forgotten 90's classic - if it wasn't pitched down to a dragging, groove-soaked tempo - this is Ozel AB in his most dangerous state. Forever building layers of grooves and percussive teasing, punctuated by small spoken word whispers and ending in utter euphoric bliss from the lush, sun-gleaned synths to the chopped vocal wails. File under big time room-crusher. 

Then rounding out the proceedings is the prickly Needler. Broken air con-esque blasts of foggy noise crash over a camel-humped bass-line and more late night contemplative pad work, which does a full about turn into a final minute of hazy London garage. Another little surprise to keep the toes tickled 'til next time.

Joining the X-Kalay roster for his debut EP, Slim Steve delivers four impressive cuts of infectious, lust infused house. Produced on an array of hardware in Steve’s bedroom in Rome, this is a refreshingly honest EP and takes the label into somewhat nostalgic territory. 

90’s ballads meet sampled italo percussion, skittish pitched up vocals pierce dangerous basslines and lung busting breakdowns give way to searching lasers in smoke filled rooms. English born Italian Steve Langrish accomplishes all this with a level of effortlessness that belies his astonishingly young years. 

An impressive debut for sure. Watch this space – Slim’s comin!

Spring is in the air and with it comes fresh collaborations in the form of the album ‘Industrie & Zärtlichkeit’ (which translates into “Industry & Tenderness“) by Berlin-based duo, Moon. Consisting of @JohannesAlbert and Johannes Paluka (@IronCurtis), it’s a splicing of styles that takes the listener through journeys of ambient, funk, electro, deep house and beyond. Released through Mr. Albert’s own imprint Frank Music, this double 12” is an ambitious collection of tracks, debuting on the heels of a few EPs teased out over the past couple years.

This week, we present ‘Proto’, a stand out, groovy theme song to the record. Coming in hot from the beginning, the track opens up with an 808 electro funk-fueled two-step kick complete with forward driving closed hats and snappy claps. As the track progresses, brooding organ chords lay a haunting foundation for a delightfully detuned melody, weaving in and out of the forefront. The poly-rhythmic feel to the song is perfect for early exercises in getting the listener (or dancer) loose and limber for faster excursions ahead.

Altogether, in ‘Industrie & Zärtlichkeit,’ Albert and Paluka go in wholeheartedly, wearing their influences on their sleeves. Whether it’s Kraftwerk or Bambaataa, they’ve teased out these retro elements and classic sounds, melding them with new techniques, creating club-ready tunes for the present-day dance floor. All in all, an exciting new partnership between these German producers has led to refreshing new material, just in time for warmer climes.

We’ve been showered with big names premiere lately at Bolting Bits, and while we appreciate all this heat sometimes a bit of fresh air is more than welcome.
Meet Sean Thomas, producer of the fourth release on the Australian label OTIS, back at it after having released Otis001. We’ll advise that you keep them all on your radars.

Hate it or love it summer is almost done, beach parties with a prosseco in your hand is always a great thing but we at BT think it’s time to bring the intensity, the urgency, of partying back up a notch. We miss the sweat dropping from the ceiling in the haze of it all. Let’s go deep.

The ep opens with Crew Cut, a steamy cut of deep house. Airy hi-hats and a high pitched string supplement a loopy bassline, timeless chord pattern and a pounding kick. With the occasional vocal one-shot the track feels instantly recognizable in its influences while retaining a strong identity.

Following is ITXC, the track we are proud of premiering today. Enter the dance softly thanks to looping and dubbed pads with a subby bassline smelling strong of early drum n bass, not unlike previous releases on the label. Surprisingly enough the track follows up with a straight kick movement although there are some trace of breaking drums lurking in the background. Is it a set opener or closer? Maybe it’s perfect for the rush hour at peak time? It seems to us that this track will make its impact whenever you play it and that’s possibly its biggest quality. Plus there’s a reference to « that » bird sample... Who doesn’t love a bit of meta-quoting?

B-side opens with Being, taking a similar approach to the aforementioned IXTC while going more to the leftfield part of the spectrum. A gorgeous track meant for special moments.

Enhancing this recipe, the closing track Actuall explores more techy and minimalist territories for a subtle introspective journey. It feels like floating on a cloud and should mark a strong impression with the right soundsystem.
