Dj Pi has been developing his appreciation for drum and bass and his mixing skills for getting on for 20 years now.  First getting inspired by the seminal "intelligent" albums of Bukem's Logical Progression and Earth series, while also engaging with the deeper darker sounds of Timeless and New Forms.  While at university Pi was lucky to support some of the biggest names on the scene at events of all sizes including Fabio, Randall, Doc Scott, Commix, Hype, Marcus Intalex. 

Having become slightly jaded by the commercialisation of DnB, Pi decided to embark on a new project to seek out and showcase unreleased and emerging producers, primarily through the Soundcloud platform.  This project "Secret Soundcloud" features 12 - 15 tracks in a quick-fire 30 minute mix aimed at promoting some of the immense wealth of diverse undiscovered talent that is out there, but struggling to be heard (www.soundcloud.com/pimasterswift) .  Now in its 30th Volume the project has built a following and, thanks to his long-term friend and Dj compatriot Jimmy Dark, the format has been translated to a monthly internet radio show on Bassport FM (www.bassport.fm) called "The Platform Project" and co-hosted by Nicky Havey. www.mixcloud.com/ThePlatform 

Pi has been following Fat Badger for a while now, so was delighted to be invited to provide a guest mix for the podcast.  A slight departure from the usual format, this mix brings a combination of unreleased material from lesser know artists and more familiar tracks from the likes of Calibre, Klute and Nu:Tone.

Fat Badger Podcast #61 - Secret Soundcloud Guest Mix

Biog:
Dj Pi is the brain behind the driving wheel at the front of the Secret Soundcloud bus - he has been mixing beats for over 15 years. Rooted firmly in breaks and drum&bass but always open to spice things up with a little variety.

Finalist in the Movement / Vestax DJ competition two years running, the diversity of his style has attracted recognition in DJ Magazine.

Having supported many of the big names in DnB (Fabio, Randall, Doc Scott, Commix, Hype, Marcus Intalex to name but a few) - he has developed a sensitivity to the mood and energy of a crowd and the skills to build a set, rather than just plonk one record on after another.
