Jedbalak is a band based in Bologna (Italy). It uses elements of the great musical tradition of the Gnawa of Morocco, an ethnic group formed by the descendants of ancient slaves deported to Morocco and coming from sub-Saharan Africa.
 

This album represent a bridge between past present and future, merging songs whose origin is lost over the centuries, with sounds and styles that are closer to our time.

The extraordinary affinities between the north African music with the popular music of southern Italy inspired the band name which is a pun between the words “Jedba” (trance state) and Kalab (short name for Calabria).
The various musical experiences that Jedbalak’s components achieved are melted together creating a new exciting and original sound landscape, which the group defines as
“Moroccan’Roll”.

All this is expressed in the live performances in which Jedbalak produces a vortex of melodies and hypnotic rhythms, an unstoppable kinetic energy concentration, involving the listener in an ecstatic and liberating dance.

A VORIA Anonimo Popolare Moliternese nell'esecuzione a ricordo di Vincenzo De Luca(Willy) e Graziano Accinni primi anni 80                 
A VORIA:  
Sentimenti contrastanti in questo brano che senza dubbi è uno dei canti più malinconici della  tradizione popolare di Moliterno(Pz), scritto, quasi  sicuramente,  nel   periodo che vede partire verso terre lontane migliaia di moliternesi alla ricerca di fortuna. Si canta l'amore e l’odio  verso il proprio incolpevole  paese,  descritto  come luogo dove, nel punto più alto di esso, il rione Castello,soffia la bora e in luoghi più bassi e più protetti,addirittura tutti gli  altri venti messi insieme(tutti li riavuli). Un paese incapace persino di offrire moglie ai più sfortunati, in quanto le donne sono tutte praticamente promesse a quegli artigiani in grado di  garantire una certa tranquillità alla futura sposa. Ecco che, nel bellissimo ritornello (“Je la sirena  ca mienzo o mari stai, oi piscatore vieni a piscà chiù cà”),  troviamo tutta  la forza del moliternese, o del lucano, capace di  reagire in modo saggio senza cadere nella trappola adescatrice e mortale  della sirena, invocata in quanto  potente  da riuscire  a fermare tutti i venti e cambiare destino al viaggiatore, in questo caso, un giovane  sfortunato.

PINEAL is a project by Nico Canzoniero.
 
In 2004 I started the solo project PINEAL, performing mainly psy-trance live set and playing with various organizers in Italy.
In the meanwhile I also played chill out and ambient music, using an armenian instrument called cùmbùs and blending it with electronics soundscapes. In 2006 borns RHYTHMATRIX, experimental project formed by two musicians, Nico and Fabio Costantini. In 2009 I join Purple Hexagon rec, and release psytrance tracks. In 2010 I start to play the Saz in a new etno-chill trio project, "ASHROOHM". In 2010 I start to collaborate and release my chill tracks with the label Blue Hour Sounds.
