Foliage Records Presents: A Soulful Fusion from Supermoon Blues & BNote – Out 18 July 2025

On 18th July 2025, Foliage Records unveils a deeply expressive two-track EP that brings together the evocative lyricism of Supermoon Blues and the richly layered production of BNote. This release offers a captivating blend of deep, soulful house infused with poetic storytelling and Afro-rooted rhythms.

Hailing from Johannesburg, Bonolo "BNote" Mogotsi is a versatile South African producer known for his seamless fusion of Afrobeat, Hip Hop, and cinematic sound design. A founding member of the duo Taola—alongside Botswana’s Thato Angela Chuma—BNote has consistently brought African sensibilities to the global deep house scene, with previous Foliage releases like Freedom and Njelele showcasing his textured, rhythmic signature.

Joining him on this project is Supermoon Blues, the poetic alter ego of Andreattah “Drea” Chuma. A Botswana-born spoken word artist and musician, her work has graced stages from Glastonbury to Berlin. Known for her soul-searching lyricism and cross-genre approach, Supermoon Blues' acclaimed 2022 album Homing offered a powerful reflection on identity, belonging, and emotional reclamation from the diaspora.

Together, BNote and Supermoon Blues deliver an immersive listening experience—one that bridges deep house grooves with spoken word resonance, and brings African-rooted storytelling to the dancefloor.

China Charmeleon teams up with Brandon Dhludhlu with Birds Sing - a soulful deep house cut that lands right where it matters. Built on a smooth 3-step rhythm, the track connects emotionally from the first beat. China’s production showcases his signature take: crisp percussion, a subtle Latin swing, and plenty of space for the vocals to breathe.

Brandon, known from Idols SA, shows his range here, delivering a performance that’s raw yet refined - nothing overstated, everything in its place. Simple lines that carry weight. Big feelings.

The final single before From The Hill lands. With this next movement, Charles Webster connects with South African architect of new jazz, Bokani Dyer, for a moment of calm clarity that sits comfortably between house and jazz, titled ‘The Artist’.

Marking his return since his award-winning Radio Sechaba album release (2023) and performing festival stages across the globe, Dyer unveils his distinct voice, both as a pianist and storyteller,  within Charles’ world of refined, leftfield house as a framework. What follows is a musical conversation between two artists at ease with detail, purpose, and feeling.
The Artist rounds off a thoughtful run of singles with an array of SA’s top artists collaborating with Charles Webster — Bakulindele (Muzi), Free (Atmos Blaq), Many Blessings (China Charmeleon & Girly Mbambani), and Rain (EMAMKAY & Bokang Ramatlapeng) each one carving its own space to breathe and shine.

This track sets the final tone for what’s to come, the final note before the album lands.
