My Playlist

This set of ten songs was written in Spring 2001. It was first recorded on tape; then digitally by Michael Jones in Crystal Palace on 8th May. In Spring 2014 I revisited these first digital takes and edited them afresh, adding effects and cutting out excess time and noise. That new edit is presented here.

All ten songs were recorded by The Pines and released on two eps, by the US labels Foxyboy Records and Matinee Recordings. Pamela Berry sang lead on six of the songs and two more were recorded as duets between us.

I based this song on text in the comic strips used in Roy Lichtenstein's paintings

I wrote this song following the recent Antarctic radio telescope observations of signals from a fraction of a second after the big bang.

I See Stars

Our new grandson, Theo, worried his family for many months before everything turned out fine when he was born. The song is about the period of uncertainty during which information and speculation abounded as investigations proceeded.

During the news of 13th December about the Higgs Boson research, it was reported that a scientist had said "We've seen a tantalising hint of the Higgs", so here's my song about it
