2002-2022, that’s 20 years of Pingipung! The German record label celebrates its anniversary with exclusive tracks by a fine selection of artists from the label roster as well as new names. Instead of looking back at the classics, Pingipung chose to compile a kaleidoscopic preview of possible future directions for the label. 
The line-up features playfully melancholic songs by Museum Of No Art, Peter Power or The Notwist, an excursion to the desert by RVDS or a psychedelic take on Dub in Tolouse Low Trax’ remix for the Ainu singer Umeko Ando. Artists such as Anadol, Y Bülbül, MD Pallavi & Andi Otto, M.RUX, Sven Kacirek, Schlammpeitziger, Peter Presto and F.S.Blumm are already well known to the Pingipung audience. They contribute exclusive new tracks, adding to their existing output on the label.  
It’s impossible to file this compilation under a genre, which is exactly the case with Pingipung in general - bull’s eye. The collection of tracks is pressed in the perfect format to match the Pingipung jubilee: A 2x10’’ vinyl in a gatefold sleeve.

We are gathered here today to commemorate in song the life of a great legend, the one and only Pingipung Records. 

For many years now, Tepeme has been amazed and inspired by the Hamburg label, release after release we get extreme curation quality, eclectic nature and outstanding artworks. It's beautiful that no matter the genres of their more than 70 (!) releases, we say "that's Pingipung"; few labels accomplish that in our eyes.

So, it is with such pleasure and honor to host one of the tracks pertaining their 20th Anniversary release: RVDS from Hamburg delivers a joyful desert ride with a psychedelic cabaret-like twist. Perfect to let imagination take over.

Y Bülbül is back on the controls accompanied by Yumurta, a percussionist from Istanbul. “Big K” is the last track from the album “Not One, Not Two” that is based on a one-way transmission of improvised drum recordings from an industrial estate in Maslak to another one in Tottenham. There Y Bülbül laid down fragmented layers of bass, synths, guitars and field recordings over Yumurta’s singular drum takes. The result is a free-form deep listening album for fans of dub, ambient and kosmische music.

This 2nd VA gathered by the reptilian mafia @reptilianbusinessrecords presents a darker side than the first compilation. You will get to hear some delicate sound design from Paris-based bass addict Machka, some deep and mellow brainfucking downtempo from Swiss duo Los Pashminas, and a big riddim from Toulouse-based bass music queen Jan Loup and her high detailed and overdriven footworking dubstep. https://soundcloud.com/oceya turns the next page with a psychedelic soulful downtempo track, tingling your agmydala with her distorted vocoded voice, opening the path for heavy industrial breaks from our friend Mawen, sound engineer of our first release and talented producer based in Bordeaux. Danniel Dhnl follows with his classic gimmicks of "Tribal Guaracha" straight from México, then Nour Kara also from Toulouse, delivers a dark technoïd yet organic tribute to Iranian women fighting for freedom. To close the deal, Da Iguana & Doko Modo prepared some trancey downtempo rooted in earth but crossing the cosmos, Islyz a heavy drum & bass track with reptile skin-like textures, and our close friend Meo is the goodbye giver, with some forest-infused, muddy yet delicate "popperstep" made with his good old octatrack. This compilation is a powerful source of energy, a medicine for cold blooded people, it's Gator Aid.
