just-us records is a collaborative dig, online shop, and sometimes record label by Bill Spencer, who lives in detroit and Izaak, who lives in San Francisco. the two of them dj frequently in their respective cities and occasionally elsewhere. their mutual obsession with and love of all kids of sound has catapulted them, together, through the vastness of recorded music and the possibilities of sharing it with others. this particular mix is put together from a multi-year effort to explore the worlds of independently-produced R&B, Soul, Jazz, Hip Hop, etc. etc. from the CD/PC era of the early 00’s. This is the second time I've spent my birthday weekend playing a set at Heideglühen, and I don't think I could spend the very beginning of my 30s in a better place. I'm so happy and grateful to have this amazing opportunity to play at my favourite club in the world, a club that feels like home, where I'm loved and appreciated. 

This is a re-recorded set inspired by the music I played at Heide on the 2nd of November, it’s not a recording from a club.

After our baptism in the sonic pulpit of the Church of Acid in October, we realised who better to ask for a mix for our Wrong Side Of The Tracks mix series than Zillas on Acid?
For those of you who were there at The Flying Duck you'll remember it was one of the best sets ever heard at one of our nights. For those who weren't, make sure you're there on the floor next time. It was truly incendiary!!
With this mix Zillas take us on a cosmic journey that shows they're masters of the art. This is psychedelic dance music of the finest order. ENJOOOIIIIII!!!

This mix was created during an away day with the British school evaluation service, OFSTED. Echoes of the academically critical can be heard in the selection, with some songs representing the nervous gulp of a new headmaster from the home counties, whose first six months in the big smoke haven’t gone so well.
