Interview With Andrei Codrescu

The Bridge Listening Room is a project of Bridge, a registered Illinois 501 c 3 not for profit. Content is curated by Bridge core collective members in cooperation with Pinglab.

The Listening Room is a discovery space featuring curated dance and music videos from our Bridge Film and Video collection, Soundcloud playlists, Bridge Audio and Readings archive recordings, and other featured recordings; sound art (such as guided sound walks, audio sculptures and installations, place sounds, etc.), including live performance recordings, and other audio.

As well, the Listening Room will host a special member's section hosting work teased on a new series of Bridge Audio flexi-discs to be produced as an ongoing special project of Bridge Art Nfp, which will contain a secret access code to an extended play Soundcloud track lists available only to flexi-disc owners. This will be archived and accessible only through the Listening Room, a curated collection of music and sound art recordings in the member's area of the bridge-chicago.org site. This area will host extended-play audio clips of the recordings sampled on the collector's edition flexi-disc, with no length restrictions but those of the platform itself, and generally enabling extended play versions of the artist's submission(s).

Pinglab is a project of Michael Workman Studios (michaelworkmanstudios.com), and serves as an archive of research and work product recordings, with exclusive content for Bridge Art, Nfp (bridge-chicago.org).

PingLab has also produced the Readings Archive since 2014, an audio archive of readings at the Private Series, hosted at various locations throughout Chicago, including at underground Cafe The Handsome Squid, and later at artist Theaster Gates' Bing Books. In 2022, the series rebooted as the Open Readings Series in partnerships with literacy not for profit Open Books at their Pilsen store location.  

As well, we will continue to host new poetry and literary recordings through &c, a Submittable category for submission of additional audio and other off-main site projects.
