Live at Opulent Temple, Wednesday Night - Burning Man 2022 - Sacred Dance ('the white party')

It's our flagship event we've done on playa since the first OT in 2003. It's the night that most encapsulates our Vision and intentions to be a mass joy generator. I picked this slot, going on before Carl Cox, to have the latitude of the early start to start deep and ramp up the energy, before bringing it down a bit for Carl to take over. That means restraint and flow, with emotion moments getting pulled back into groove and steady beauty.

As always, it was a magic night and I thank you if you were there dancing with us!

It has been quite some time since the last time we gathered for a night of MBTS. I wanted to take some time after the pandemic to be quiet and see how the dance music scene would evolve, and what sounds would come out of the standstill that was Covid. Now that I have a good sense of where I want to be sonically, and what kind of energy I want to spread onto dance floors, I am ready to restart MBTS in 2023. We'd been waiting for this one since NYE when an impromptu tag set happened between these two and we knew it was fate at it's finest hour.  We got the boys together and the result was incredible, a 4 hour B2B set with The Scumfrog also providing some live drums to compliment the set had Mighty in a frenzy of dance.  We are certainly looking forward to doing this again!

This was my first trip to the Joshua Tree Music Festival.  It definitely lived up to and exceeded any expectations I may have had.  The beautiful community of music enthusiasts it attracted was second to none.  They came with me wherever I went musically.  There's nothing like being physically present, but I'm trusting some of the magic from that beautiful evening under stars will translate via this recording into something that will leave your soul smiling. The Dutch/American artist The Scumfrog has been a household name in the underground Dance Music scene since 2000. His brand is known for many traits; music production, musicianship, DJing, featured vocalist, music coach, radio host, and remixing.

From his timeless early works like Watersong, to dubbed-out remixes of songs by mainstream artists like Kylie Minogue, Annie Lennox, Missy Elliott, to collaborations with David Bowie, Sting, and Cyndi Lauper (resulting in a Grammy nomination), he has been featured on virtually every prominent independent Dance label, from Bedrock to 1605, from Positiva to Knee Deep In Sound.

With his roots firmly planted in the experimental side of Dance Music and Electronica, The Scumfrog toured the world many times over with his unique DJ sets. He is also a staple at the Burning Man festival, where he performs his annual sunrise and sunset rituals to his devoted followers. The Scumfrog hosts club nights called M.B.T.S. (Most Below The Surface) where he usually plays the entire night, and he is in production with a new project in NYC featuring live percussionists.
