I am here, with my gunny sack. 

One day I dumped all my roots in there and left.
I didn’t have to; it was a choice.

I was once an elephant, stumping and trumpeting under the grey skies of Tehran. 
Lions and goats were my lovers.

And then, I flew. 
Flapping my ears across many lands and arrived on this land, where trees are standing in the water.
The cold, silent and sweet water. 

It’s been seven years now.

My journey was solo, it was me, my gunny, and my inner mirrors.
And I was invisible, it was strange.

I was an amalgamation of smells, flavours and voices that were bouncing off the narrow- yet infinite- walls of my existence. 

And then things happened, I can’t remember how, but it happened. 
I remember holding on to the sturdy vines of generous creatures of this city and swung my way through.

I am here now; my roots are slowly sprouting through the gunny. 
I laugh more, I cry more, I love more, I dance so much more; I even design soundscapes now!

I am friends with martens, chickadees and black flies. Magical incidents often come about when I rotate my kaleidoscope in a random fashion.

I am not just me now, I am a chorus of elephants.
I hope you feel our joy, our pride, our pain, and our dance moves.
