Edward Elgar's Severn Suite, transcribed for organ and performed by Thomas Murray on the Newberry Memorial Organ at Yale.

This recording was made on the famed Skinner Organ in Woolsey Hall at Yale University, regarded as one of the finest concert hall pipe organs in the world. With its 12,617 pipes it produces an unrivalled spectrum of tonal color and a wide dynamic range, from the quietest whispers to a thunderous avalanche of sound.

The Severn Suite is an orchestral masterpiece from Edward Elgar's late years and offers a musical journey with programmatic representations from the City of Worcester in England, the composer's birthplace: "Worcester Castle", "Tournament", Worcester Cathedral" and "Commandery".  Prof. Murray's transcription is the first to encompass the entire work.
