Juanita's Mix 006 with Ian Kim Judd @iankjudd

Q. How would you describe yourself?
A. If I had to - I would describe myself as a “DJ”, but perhaps more importantly an obsessive music fan. For I wouldn’t have become the former without already being the latter.

Q. How long have you been involved in the NY music scene?
A. Since I arrived in NYC seven years ago, I’ve been involved in music communities high and low, left and right since day one. Club music, left-field music, has always inspired me greatly.

Q. Tell us a little bit about this mix.
A. Mixes are a perfect format for not only formulating one's love for music, but also compiling it to communicate and project new worlds and possibilities. At least that’s my aim with every mix I make, and for Fifth World, my monthly on NTS.

My mix for Juanita's is an hour of optimistic tunes; music that aspires and inspires. It’s best played early in the morning, later in the evening, or anywhere in between :)

For the newest Animix i'm very happy to host an exciting, bass-heavy mix by one of my favourite DJs at the moment, Amsterdam local @jasminhoek

She is in many ways a perfect representation of the bright, bubbly and diverse style that is common amongst so many of my favourite Dutch DJs and producers, whilst at the same time she is certainly paving her own refreshing and unique style. 

Residing in Amsterdam & studying gender studies, Jasmin hosts her own radio show "petting dogs" on Stranded FM.  She frequently featured on De School lineups before its' closure this year, and i'm excited to see where she goes with her DJ'ing in the post-covid music world.

Thanks again for being a part of the series Jasmín! <3
