Interconnecting her love for painting and music, salama sinks into her subconscious to fuse these 2 worlds together - “a mystical reflection on the past and present through living natural phenomena and human relationships”

'Digger’s Meditation' intros you to salama’s world slipping into a cathartic 13 min meditation of tetchy trap beats & faded skeletal samples. It opens the gates to pitched down voices and echoing beats leading you to the garden of sound on 'SL'. birds & sounds of nature accompany a loose hip-hop beat that fades to blissful nothingness. 'Jettin’ Planets Remix' kicks the music back into kilter with an eerie beat & twinkling melodies laid over a distant rapping voice. we continue deeper into the landscape as 'Pomoy' darkens the sounds with chuggy drums that lead to a glistening melodic light. 'Sleeping On The Persian Rug' flourishes into a 360 soundscape of nature, yearning melancholic horns and signature disjointed beats. a prelude to the drawn out ambiental closer, 'Mirage Loop'. 8 thoughtful minutes reflecting on the dreams, mystique & nature hidden in salama’s world of sound.

Devon Rexi return with Mini-LP “Biya Ba Man”, a new and improved take on the no wave steppers and post punk grooves of their debut “Tambal EP”.

The five track Mini-LP sees the band expand to a quintet, with originators Nic Mauskovic (drums and vocals) and Nushin Naini (bass and vocals) joined by Tobias Jansen on turntables, Lyckle de Jong on synths and effects and Goya van der Heyden on percussion.

The extra players collaborate to send Devon Rexi’s sound in new directions, amplifying the already extra-dimensional vibe. Synths and vinyl manipulation render a trip hop vibe to the post punk brew, reminding of zoned-out jams like Maxinquaye, or those heady early Mo’Wax.

Opening track “Sjikamo” sets the tone at a deconstructed hip hop tempo, samples spliced up like a classic Celluloid album. “Fargh Nimikoone” ups the pace with a funky 135 bpm lean, and Nushin’s harmonized vocal sounding ever more alien over the conga rhythm. “Marde Pir” closes the first side at another beatdown tempo, the drums flexing like factory pistons. 

The B side fires up with “Biya Ba Man Biya” - a proper steppers bounce, Nushin’s farsi singalong chorus is as catchy as it’s ever been. The Mini-LP concludes with “Koja Raftan” bringing plenty of Bomb Squad energy, crescendoing in fine maximal percussive style. 

It’s no wave, but not as we know it. With new members bringing effects and collage elements to the spacious minimal wave core, there’s plenty of avenues for future formations of Devon Rexi to explore.

 A partir de un concentrado trabajo de selección, en los últimos años Dj mais ha grabado un gran número de mixtapes para Muito Radio, plataforma que dirige desde el año 2020, incluyendo los shows Contra, Divino Maravilhoso, Local Mambo y El Parrandero Breakfast Show, un nuevo programa con selecciones mensuales que van más allá de la música de club incluyendo pasajes más experimentales y una variedad de ritmos latinos con el espíritu libre y sincopado del mambo.

Landjakaku takes you on a journey through a metaphysical space where pitched and playful voices guide you into a lysergic world.
Intricate and unusual percussive elements, seemingly shaped from the ground itself, create a mesmerizing and quirky groove.

The first track begins with wobbly and watery sounds that evoke the strange and wondrous nature surrounding you. These sounds blend seamlessly with a complex 7/8 rhythm. This intriguing beginning lays the foundation for the adventure ahead, as the energy builds progressively throughout the EP.
The second track introduces a wacky dancehall groove with rolling, stoned drums, creating an hypnotic and captivating atmosphere.
The third track leans towards a more tropical and playful vibe, infusing the EP with moments of lightheartedness. The final track bring you into a spicy footwork closing the journey on a note that is both esoteric and electrifying.

Absorb presents the debut EP by 'dummy tree', the interlocked, ambient strong of Melbourne's Jim Sellars (Yunzero), Jordan Obarzanek (Body Clock, OBA, Cloud Ice 9), and Joseph Buchan (Other Joe).

Three improvisational live cuts form the super-group’s first release, all pinched from their dovetailed performance at the ABSORBED festival in 2024. It was 4:30pm, they were backlit by the afternoon sun. Through these longform recordings, each member of dummy tree can be heard intimately, testing dynamics in turn and introducing surprising amounts of drama. There are guitars, both acoustic and electric, competing with synthesisers and woodwind instruments that build from a murmur into whole walls of sound. The drowsy atmospherics are akin to early Seefeel or Windy & Carl, although careful listeners will also pick up crumbs that trace back to the extensive catalogue of works made by Sellars, Obarzanek and Buchan individually.

You'll find the music of dummy tree to be more disarming than any of the aforementioned, a special project that is worth celebrating in its infancy, and to watch out for while it grows.

Recorded with two turntables with +/- 50% pitch control in darkness facing a coelcerth (bonfire) as the leaves fall at the end of summer 2021 and we present an offering for our departed. Many thanks to Ryan Martin for organizing a fitting ritual for noson galan gaeaf / samhain / halloween with spectacular performances by Allesandre, Karl Raymar, Cevra, and Cornelius F. Van Stafrin III. Blessings to all.
