Scuffed Recordings line up the sixth instalment of their Scuffed Presents series, with four artists from the Scuffed roster stepping up to remix tracks from the label catalogue.

The Scuffed Presents remix compilations have become an annual tradition for the Scuffed schedule each summer, with previous remixes coming from the likes of Nikki Nair, Marshall Applewhite, Stones Taro, and label founders Ian DPM and Wager.

On 2021’s edition of the series, the label welcomes Farsight, Fiesta Soundsystem, Dubrunner, and An Avrin to put their spin on their favourite Scuffed tracks – resulting in a fresh and wide-reaching mix of sounds.

Closing out the release is Londoner @4navr1n, whose wonky, idiosyncratic style is on show all over his remix of Dubrunner’s ‘Destination Unknown’.

The guys at Brick Sweat have asked us to premier a track from their first VA album, after hearing the tracks they sent through we were gassed to be involved. We chose this track by Samyul to premier as it was very much on brand for ITD and we look forward to getting this in the mix very soon. This is a really exciting project by Brick Sweat so be sure to check it out - plus all proceeds go to charity.

Brick Sweat Records was founded through a passion for dance music and the culture that comes alongside it that we all know and love. Formed by a group of 3 friends (Slim Shae, DJ Mean-E and Samyul), Brick Sweat Records aim to put the sounds of the underground on the map; the sounds that brought them here in the first place.

Our first release is The Foundation VA - 20 tracks, 20 artists. This track is a part of that album and all the proceeds will be for charity. We hope you enjoy. Love.

Bluetoof now comes in taking us on a dark electro tip with his track 'Brain Malfunction'. The minimal and enticing intro guides us into the mighty drop of the bassline and flickering percussions 🌪

We are thrilled to welcome our dear friend Tristan Arp into the SLINK family with his latest EP, "The Self Elastic".

A shapeshifter across strains of biologic club environs and tender sculptural soundscapes, this project finds Tristan Arp testing the elasticity of his own sonic blueprint through an exploration of varicolored intensity, mischief, and evolution.

Inspired by the sci-fi writings of Octavia E. Butler’s Parable of the Sower and Bo-Young Kim’s “An Evolutionary Myth,” the fluidity of free jazz innovator Ornette Coleman, and a fascination with alchemy, these four tracks are designed for freak-time club rapture.

What would it sound like if one could alchemize a self that is beyond the sum of all our parts. Would it make a sound? Would it have a shape? Would it have a body?

"Twice Lived is a series of reactions. I’d like to say this album has meaning behind it, a purpose that once thought has now been achieved in this final form, but the truth is I had no intention with any of it. I would start with a sound I liked and use that as a base to create more as a response to the initial. This cycle could go on and on until the original sounds vanished into thin air. Why do I like some sounds and hate others? Why does this switch from day to day? Every element of every song has been some sort of subconscious answer to the former, to my external life, either by mimicking inspirations and emotions, or directly opposing them. Like a series of diary entries on the same page, written over the top of each other, this is a tangle of reactions morphed together over the course of 2 years."

🦐BAIT6-VEP2-ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY STEPS🦐 
Bait’s second VEP (Various EP) is a 4-track dive into a rather modern phenomenon: 150 dubstep, as DJs and crowds seem to be enjoying the faster bass sounds, yet broken rhythms and heavy halftime pulses. For this release we’ve got L.A.’s rising bass-music star @carreo, specialised in racing wobblers, who recently released her second solo EP on her label @fastatwork (first one was on Darwin's @specrecords). Track 2 is Berlin-based Femme Bass Mafia member @gaia-formella’s first ever release, a reflection of her upbringing in and around London, drawing inspiration from playful breaks to deep wobbly bass. Third track is by @fastcastle label captain Gent1le $oul, also Berlin-based and pushing hybrid dubstep in the German capital with hot vinyl releases and parties. Last but not least, @splt_music’s mental banger “Grill Party” that Beatrice M. happened to discover in Laksa’s Truant podcast (https://soundcloud.com/truants/truancy-volume-318-laksa) and reached out after dropping an “ID?” comment on soundcloud. The Lyon-based producer never misses, his tracks have been played out multiple times by Garçon and Agonis, in the continuity of merging bass and techno, always with an aspect of prog.

With ‘Sliding Doors’, Eora producer, Sanguine, greets Lost Properties with an elegant blend of ambient, dub and downtempo, full of skittering echoes and textural ear candy. 

‘Gone To Taste A Dream’ opens with lush pads and twinkly keys, before giving way to blissed out drums at 100bpm. Picking up the pace, ‘Push Not Pull’ postulates atmospheric breakbeat through tablas and congas, echoing out into the void. ‘Denture Venture’ casts its gaze to the stars, with a wide-eyed bass roller, replete with found sounds and smooth washes of noise. Opening with an eerie tone, ‘Ear Gum’ gives way to crunchy breaks and chirping synths.

Rich in detail and intricate in approach to rhythm, Sanguine delivers a love letter to dub, equally indebted to ambient voyagers like Purelink as it is to Skee Mask.

As we venture to foreign lands over the last two years, so too does our label and the artists that join us on this year's compilation. Presenting 'Volume Three', including twelve tracks from producers based in Naarm, Berlin, London, Boorloo, Barcelona, Eora & Leeds.

Across twelve pieces, forms a microcosmic diorama—introspective, expansive, and trickled with odes to 90s ambient, downtempo trance and dub. Aethereal pads glide over synthetic breaks, reflecting a tension between organic flow and artificial symmetry.

This compilation stands as a monument to the liminal—the space between digital and dream, pulsing like coded signals from distant outposts, a mosaic of futures imagined through bygone lenses.
