Smooth was established by Marco Köller from Wuppertal (Germany) in 2006 to seperate the progressive flavoured output from his other musical projects and to dive a little deeper into sounds and other musical genres. Meanwhile, Smooth has become a project for research in Dubtechno, Deep House, Garage House, UK House, Progressive, Drum&Bass and 2-Step, as these styles have been important influences in the bygone years. In ancient Finnish folklore it was known that the forest was a powerful, otherworldly place. When wandering the woods one could sometimes get caught in metsänpeitto, the eerie realm of forest entities. Suddenly all the sounds of the woods would diminish, familiar locations would become unrecognisable and the wanderer would be frozen with confusion and fear. If the wanderer did not know the right spells and rituals to placate the forest entities, he would then be forever lost in metsänpeitto, apart from this world.

The Avenue Red Podcast presents a fresh addition to the roster. Welcome Kyrro (real name George Kury) who is originally from France and is now based in Amsterdam, the Dutch capital city full of red light districts, trippy weed cafes and intriguing bars and clubs with a strong undercurrent of underground electronic music culture.

Kyrro sent us a few mixes in the past and there was a sad story: an accidental data loss occurred on both sides and an incredible 1-hour mix he created to be released on Avenue Red was lost forever. This is the new improved version, the final directors cut, which has come 1 year later and we are over the moon to be able to finally do this!

One word comes to mind from the sounds within: Glacial. This mix really captures a mood of travelling through cold icy waters and exploring landscapes full of glaciers... the loneliness, the isolation - apart from the odd polar bear - and the beautifully barren nature of such a place is all wrapped up into one dreamy, textured package... full of echo, melancholy and slow, timeless motion.

"I grew up in France in the 90's playing electric guitar and experimenting with synthesizers. I produce analogue soundscapes using hardware tools with a mix of raw elements and a modern touch. I love living in Amsterdam where I am constantly working to shape deep and ambient electronics into my own sound, while continuing to explore new musical horizons.

To say i am massively passionate about music is an understatement, I've been addicted to alternative music from a very early age, leistering to early electro around the age of 7. My first introduction to IDM was by Boards of Canada and Aphex Twin. I started creating my own sets and playing live in 2007. When I put a set together, I don't just chuck any old tunes in, I have to absolutely love each track. This can mean only producing a set when I have enough tracks, and to be fair makes the set that bit better, if not forever to make. IMO especially with ambient techno I like to mix FAST playing each track not too long, my Techno / Minimal Techno sets are even faster, packing more variety in to each set...IMO subtlety is the key...

Seagle (real name Svavar Orn). I'm just a guy from the most northern capital in the world, Reykjavik, Iceland with Russian & German blood who loves living life.
I moved allot around with my family when I was younger. Having lived in many places in Iceland, and also in Faroe Islands for some years and Israel, Tel Aviv for an example.
"I am a people person. Love people, love being around them."

I started my musical journey pretty young as a kid discovering heavy metal, 80’s and following with grunge. Slowly later I started discovering Drum & Bass, TripHop and Techno throughout the years.
Then came a long pause in the electronic genre and moved completely to Psychedelic rock, shoegaze and many other rock genres.
About 6 years ago I discovered the depths of Dub/Deep Techno and all it’s power and diversity.
"What I love about Dub Techno is there are endless roads to choose. It’s so diverse and has so many varieties. Dub Techno can take you to the chill zone in the sofa and also dancing through out
the day and night on the dance floor. Just love it!"
I listen to all kinds of music and get my inspiration in all genres. Everything from Jazz, to Heavy Metal. Every day I'm thinking about music, no matter what form or genre.
