This is a simple one mic recording, just me and guitar. I've been wanting to put a recording out like this for a while now, just nothing felt right.

My amazing, autistic 9 year old son Harrison inspired this one. He's a great poet, so maybe one day he'll knock me off my perch. So it's me imagining I was him, and writing how I think I would feel, and thinking about my 9 year old self, how I did feel ( too long ago) He often needs to walk around stimming or just needs time alone to himself, just to process the day, the world, I suppose. I can really relate to that myself, and knowing how content I can be in my own company, I suppose I just think that's a cool thing. Autism is a real learning curve though, the spectrum is vast and complex, probably quite misunderstood too. But it's been quite therapeutic, now he's at an age where he can talk about it, and we can all talk and learn about it together as a family.

The Girl With The Mechanical Heart

This is a song written and first recorded by the great Chris Maness. He was kind enough to share his badass bass line and song with me after I requested it. I kept hearing a David Gilmore solo on top of it. Not that I'm a faction of the player he is, but that was the feel I wanted for it. To Chris' bass and acoustic guitar, I added a couple if electric guitars, some slide, mandolin, banjo, and synth. I really enjoy collaborating with him because he always gives me such gems with which to work. I hope you like my version of his song. You can find the original on his page @cgmaness.
