 The Pixie Bennett Band formed in Jan 2008 where they performed a cameo set at the KZN festival Splashy Fenn . In September 2008 they performed at the White Mountain Folk Festival and slowly but surely they began their journey and grew their fanbase.

Pixie Bennett who fronted the project has performed in countries such as Spain (Ibiza), Turkey, Italy, Malawi, Seychelles, Switzerland and the UK, as a club dancer and singer. She entered into SA Idols, making it to the top 7 in 2009.

After falling out of the show the band was in huge demand, playing with Top SA bands Prime Circle, Zebra and Giraffe, Aking, Flash Republic, Dirty Skirts at the Mr Price Pro Ballito 2009 and 2010, as well as showcasing their energetic act at the Durban Vodacom July 2009/2010, Opening for top SA R&B artist Loyiso at the Durban Botanical Gardens, and entertaining at many corporate events.

The Band also shared the stage with International Rapper Busta Rhymes, local bands Wonderboom, City Bowl Mizers, Voodoo Child and DJ Ready D to name a few. During the World Cup they were booked to perform at the semi-finals match at Moses Mabida stadium together with the Beach Fan Fest where they gained further international fans.

The Pixie Bennett Band recorded their  EP album at Sesalos Studios, produced by John Ellis from Tree 63. Their Single "So Spun" experienced great success on the SA Charts and their second single "Edge of the line" followed closely behind. The Pixie Bennett Band were sponsored by MR PRICE who powered their first nationwide South Africa tour which they completed in September 2009, together with their music video for "Edge of the Line".

The bands debut music video was launched on Mnet's All Access, and reached number 1 on the MK top 10 video charts staying on the charts for 11 weeks! Further channels to showcase the video include SABC2 and Idols extra together with many radio stations websites and further online sites!

This dynamic band created waves in the SA music scene and were recognised as one of the top two newcomer bands in 2009 by the Sunday Tribune. Their live act captured your attention with a magnetic leading lady backed by some of SA's hottest musicians!

Due to changes in the musical direction of the band members, Pixie welcomed session players to finish off the last leg of their tour. These friends and session artists later formed part of the hugely successful unit "Gangs Of Ballet" and Pixie went forward with a solo career in the club and underground house scene.

Pixie Bennett has entertained live audiences all over the world with a soulful on-stage presence and the ability to evoke nostalgia in music lovers and partygoers.

With her roots in the club scene since 2002 as a freestyle vocalist and dancer, she has performed for underground audiences in the UK, Turkey, Malawi, Switzerland, Seychelles, Italy, Spain, and South Africa.

As a Top 7 finalist in the reality TV series IDOLS, she broke into the South African market over a decade ago in 2009. This opportunity allowed her to receive a significant amount of press and media publicity and perform to an audience of millions across Southern Africa.

From there, she took on the role of the frontwoman of The Pixie Bennett Band, performing on the festival and corporate circuits within SA, sharing the stage with top local talent before embarking on a solo career. Mentionable artists include Goldfish, Goodluck, DJ Fresh, Kid Fonque, The Flash Republic, Prime Circle, Wonderboom, Die Antwoord, DJ Cleo, Erica Elle, Roger Goode, Little Leigh, Lady Lea, Dino Bravo, Dino Moran, Martin Mchale and DJ Terance.

Highlight performances include The International Radio Festival (Zurich), Spring Fiesta, H2O, Durban Day, Splashy Fenn, The Durban July, Basique Festival, Ukhosi Volume Concert, Sounds Of Africa at The Egg (London), The Mr Price Pro, and Miller Rock The Boat. Notable club residencies include The Halikarnas (Turkey) and Origin Nightclub (Durban).

Gaining recognition in both the Afro House and Pop Rock cultures, several singles charted on leading commercial radio stations locally. With a hit Afro House track, “City Lights,” produced by DJ Whiskey, she released through Soul Candi Records on their acclaimed 10-year anniversary compilation.

“Shapeshifter,” produced by UltraTone, was later signed by the label, and Universal Music Records released her full-length album produced by the late Craig Massiv.

After a musical sabbatical, she launched the single "Synchronize," an Afro Deep House collaboration track with Josi Chave and Balata, which includes a remix by the legendary house band Studio Apartment (Tokyo).

Early September saw a new release under the Soul Candi Records banner yet again. A nostalgic soulful track titled "Soulscape Philosophy," produced with V.underground and Beat Soul.

Based in Cape Town, Pixie looks forward to returning to the stage for live shows once more, with a honed mind-body-spirit mindset aimed at uplifting and connecting with others through soulful sounds and beautiful vocals.
