J Buckner is a multi-instrumentalist, musician and producer from Cleveland, Ohio. He has performed solo and in bands for over a decade sharing the stage with notable underground acts like Astronautalis, MC Frontalot, Buke & Gase, Grand Buffet and Captured by Robots. 

My name is Hil Hackworth and this is View From The Hil.  I sit down with musicians, artists, and professionals in and around Athens, Ohio who work within the music and arts scene, as well as a few random local celebrities, as we sit down and talk about music, art, life, and the ideas bringing it all together. 
 
Guaranteed to bring a healthy serving of shenanigans every episode, you'll get insight into the Athens music and art scene directly from the people helping create it. Formed in the Appalachian foothills in 2011, The D-Rays draw from a wide number of garage/surf/punk influences to deliver their own brand of stripped down and dirty instrumental rock.
Driven by bass player Missy Pence and drummer Maceo Gabbard, The D-Rays’ live show reflects the short attention span of guitarist Erick Coleman. Onstage, the band gets right down to business- their alcohol-fueled set features original tunes that rarely break the two minute mark. The result is a fast moving show centered around a blasting rhythm section and reverb-soaked guitar.
Since their debut, The D-Rays have shared the stage with the likes of Southern Culture on the Skids, The Queers, Deke Dickerson, White Mystery, Bill Kirchen, Man Man, the Supersuckers and more. Notable live performances include the Nelsonville Music Festival, Kansas City’s Greaserama, Blackout Fests and Cornfed Johnson’s Phoenix Fest.
