URA (Zac MacArthur)! Mans got tunes. 

How do you typically prepare a mix?

I fill a stick or a bag with music I want to play. Try not to overthink it. After a while I feel like intuition is king.

Who do you think is the most underrated artist of our time?

CFCF / Cecile Believe

3 goals for 2022 that has nothing to do with music?

Breath. Stretch more. Get a dog?

If you had to go back in time music wise what era would it be and why?

I think I’d stay right here. Insane music coming out right now!

DJ Fart In The Club @ Sustain Release

What is your most recent favorite DJ mix and why?

Huerco S and DJ Healthy at Public Records. Refreshing club music. Love it.

What was your first gig? How did it go? 

It was in a bar in the suburbs using Virtual DJ. My girlfriend at the time was celebrating her birthday. We were 16. It was hype.

Amuwa’s Debut EP ‘Force Majeure’ released on Eora based Midheaven Records in 2021 landed with a bang. Ten years of musical development manifests itself in a refined sound that brings together the best elements of progressive trance, electro and contemporary psy. Inspired by the constant sounds of city life, amuwa produces tracks with purpose. Whether built for the club or a great system in the great outdoors, environment is an undeniable underlying factor in his compositions. A keen attention to, amuwa’s use of sprinkling finishing touches, stereo imaging and subtle changes allow for big impact. The clean, driving and hard hitting sounds of amuwa have been a huge personal favourites of mine over the last year so I like many will be watching on for an exciting future ahead for amuwa.

Julian is quickly building a name for himself locally and abroad with his crisp, classy and unique modern style dnb/bass/dub style productions, with recent releases on local imprints @secretworldlabel & @purespacefm 

This mix is the perfect introduction of Julian's sound to the Animalia community. Animalia's dnb explorations will go deeper and further with a Dividens EP on it's way!

Water and light mostly 

What is your favorite party/collective where you reside and why?

Too many faves. Some heavy hitters off the top are Umami/Echo Flats/Heavenly/Community Chest. They are %100 in it for the experience. Community Chest is a joint force crew of about 7 great crews from Sydney – It’s kinda like when the power rangers come together to make that big robot fighter guy

What was your best moment at the supermarket?

They were playing Bill Withers in a Woollies once and it got me

What is your most recent favorite DJ mix and why?

Max D – Indie Rock on C- was maybe the last one that got me good. Max D only plays by Max D’s rules

Number #109 coming from someone very special, someone who has done so much for the local scene and someone I can safely say has remained a big inspiration to me since my late teenage years. Harold ! @djharoldd

Harold is known locally and abroad for his incredible array of outputs. From DJ'ing (and being widely recognised in Melbourne as being one of the best). to running the ever incredible @steeplejackrec, and running some of the most iconic local events (Pleasure Planet...!). 

I have a very distinct memory of feeling truely inspired & deciding to move to Melbourne whilst dancing to Harrison's closing set at the first party I ever went to in Melbourne back in 2014 - Pleasure Planet's third birthday at Lounge. Harrison is a guiding force in the scene and is incredibly supportive of those around him.. but most of all.. he's a mastermind Dj. Enjoy this wild mix in Harrison's signature style <3 Glitchy.. deep IDM outer-worldly heaven.

Talia Jimenez aka Tangela is a force to be reckoned with - highly skilled DJ, host of the wonderful ‘Citrus’ on FBI radio and co-founder of a sleuth of boundary pushing events including dstreet, club < and now the newly established minutiae festival. Having these many hats and excelling at them all demonstrates Tangela’s intimate knowledge of her audiences and ability to tailor exceptional experiences accordingly. For dancefloors, that usually means a focus on generating energetic narratives combining enveloping soundscapes, pervasive depth and hypnotic detail to effortlessly guide dancers on spirited expeditions. With deep and diverse involvement in all sections of the electronic music community in Eora and beyond, I’m very excited to chat to Tangela about how she does it all. I first became aware of the Harmony label when they released ‘Natives’ an EP by prolific techno producer Alan Backdrop in 2019. Since this time, I’ve followed their lead, been enchanted by their always impressive musical outputs and enamoured - yet only from afar by their magical parties. Made up of multi-talented individuals, as a collective they coalesce as a group of kindred souls united by a shared wellspring of boundless creativity. From UNESCO-listed libraries, gymnasiums and forest floors, no event is too big or too out there for Harmony to pull off. As a DJ, producer and live artist NERVE makes and performs a limitless brand of techno that explores notions of drum and bass, breaks, noise, electro, dark ambient, and industrial. NERVE’s live sets are undeniably body music, steely textures punctuated by drum and bass inflicted rhythm workouts capable of whipping any crowd into a frenzy.

The cherished rave enchantresses provided a high-octane Passing Notes guest mix featuring their tracks from the Enchanted EP, remixes and unreleased gems.
