“How'd You Get Like This?" is a masterclass in conscious rap that reads like a philosophical treatise set to jazz-influenced beats. The track opens with a haunting question that becomes the framework for a deep dive into the psychology of creative resistance and systematic control.
The artist delivers a complex meditation on the relationship between madness and artistry, using the metaphor of magnetic forces - how darkness and light simultaneously tear apart and hold together the creative spirit. What begins as personal introspection evolves into a broader commentary on power structures, addiction (both chemical and systemic), and the illusion of free will in a controlled society.
