Its now 20 years since Vince Watson arrived on the scene with his debut single on Dave Angel’s Rotation label, and in that time the versatile Scottish producer has featured on no less than 200 releases, 80 remixes, 8 albums, TV series and adverts.

In 2 decades Vince has been able to reach out to many different genre’s and claim fans from all corners of the divide’s, from Deep House to Ambient or Techno to Jazz.

In days gone past labels like Fcom, Ibadan, Tronic and Delsin were where his music found a home. These days you will find him on seminal labels like Cocoon, Ovum, Poker Flat, Rekids, Planet E and Yoruba to name a few.

To celebrate his first 20 years in the game, Watson is launching a very special compilation entitled :

‘VW20 : Introspection’ 

This is most definitely a compilation with a difference.
Watson has spent many hours delicately stripping the originals and rebuilding them from the ground up as well as using completely new sounds and parts. Some older ones have been slowed down carefully and re-mastered to make them playable in today’s more sedate BPM environment. Others are made to be more club friendly…and some just sound so much better thanks to todays mastering technique’s, but all have been beautifully re-crafted to make them feel like brand new tracks again, giving them a new life for 2016. Anyone that owns any of the original releases on this will be pleasantly rewarded for checking these new versions out.

The selection is based on releases from labels like Delsin, Fcom, Ibadan & Planet E, while there is also 9 exclusive new beat-less versions (Mystical Rhythm for example), which have never been heard before, and were specifically made for this one-off release.

Watson is offering this project as a 34 track Boxset but also as 6 separate EP’s. Vince also offers to personally send high quality 24bit audio for free to anyone who buy’s the releases if they require it.

The project will be released initially on Bandcamp on Aug 29th, before going live on other stores on October 10th.

Plaid (pronounced \ˈplad\) are the London based electronic music duo Andy Turner & Ed Handley. They are two of the founding members of The Black Dog, releasing their first EP in 1989 and signing to Warp Records in 1991. They have used many other pseudonyms including; Atypic, Repeats and Balil, but have focusing on Plaid since 1995. They have released 11 studio albums as Plaid, from 1991's 'Mbuki Mvuki', to 2022's 'Feorm Falorx'. 

Various sources claim they took their name “Plaid” from the Welsh word for “Party”.
