We're back with another edition of the DC House Grooves Meet the Locals Podcast! For episode 14, we've got a great mix from Stick Fingers Collective members HOT COFFEE. Over to James from HOT COFFEE for a few words about the mix:

" This mix features the musical selection / mixing of 1/2 of HOT COFFEE ( James ).  Being our second mix for this new project, I wanted to introduce the listener to some of my favorite jams that really set a natural percussive mood which is a staple of all our HOT COFFEE sets.  Originally we had planned out a mix for this, but didn’t feel the vibe.  Placing myself into a more explorative mindset and pressing record, led to a mix that takes you on a journey from a mid tempo acid jazz groove to swinging funky house and beyond.  I hope you enjoy listening as much as i did making it, dancing, sweating, and grooving all over our half finished Sticky Fingers Collective studio, this mix helped reaffirm my love of DJ'ing and motivate us to take things further! Believe it or not but Uncanny Valley looks back on five years of releasing records this summer. There was a bit of discussion on how to celebrate this occasion properly. Instead of just turning into the typical Greatest hits-routine the label heads Albrecht, Carl, Conrad and Philipp decided to look back and forth. So, besides a record with completely new material there will be a record that unleashes four tracks from the vaults of these five years. As you can imagine, there are lots of tracks that are good too but doesn’t fit on the record in question because of the whole record’s atmosphere or just because there’s not enough space on the vinyl. Loving the sound of music at an early age has its advantages for it lead him to branch out into
different genres. At the age of 10, he moved to Miami and started playing the drums in middle
school. After playing percussion for a few years he wanted to pursue something different,
something that would allow him to express his creativity through his music. The beginning of
2010 was a difficult time; a car accident left him without hope .He knew his life was changing but did not know in what direction. At the end of June of that same year he was given an opportunity to play in front of hundreds of people by local house DJ. Since then, DUBELU has played
alongside top DJ’s such as: Mikey Lion, J.Philip, Signal Flow, Mark Starr, Jeremy Ismael, Baez, Dude Skywalker and played at top hot spots including Treehouse, Do Not Sit On The Furniture,
Electric Pickle, The Social Lubricant, Kill Your Idol, Tampa`s PRANA in Ybor City and much
more. His work is included on labels such as Paris Label Bimini Records and LTHM Records
base out of California with remixs on Marten Sundberg “New Hope”. “The title track ‘New Hope’
is reworked by Dubelu, giving a more atomospheric Deep Tech feel to the original, which is sure to keep the flow grooving. DUBELU is a staple in the underground Miami scene, his recent
release on Bimini records showcased his solid skills as a producer as for on stage his music
gravitates everyone together into one entity moving the deeper parts of your soul.
