In December 2011, a group of music enthusiasts noticed that the European underground dance scene seemed to have its roots in older, now classic songs. This prompted an exploration into the relationships between their various musical muses, and the billie birkin project was born.
 
The name comes from the intersection of the 1983 classic ‘Billie Jean’ off Michael Jackson’s iconic album, Thriller, and Jane Birkin, the 1960′s French-Pop muse.
 
In life, we’ve sometimes had a hard time relating our culture in Korea with other cultures throughout the world. This blog is our way of relating to, and embracing the best parts of those cultures.
 
While we will mostly focus on music such as Retro, Nu Disco, Synthpop, French House, Deep House,  and Indie Pop/Rock, other music that catches our attention will also show up on billie birkin. Posts will cover any Korean or international contents worth knowing about (any genre), and eventually will expand to cover fashion, movies, multimedia and parties.
