Riding in with the power to deliver sunshine to world’s rainiest open-air events, Monkey Safari brings rays of light to whatever dance floors they cast their shimmering spell on. 

The German brothers have released on Get Physical numerous times over the years, but not since 2020's 'Palomar.' Their new single 'Ceremony' shows how their sound has evolved since then and comes after more than a decade of EPs and LPs on their own Hommage label as well as the likes of Anjunadeep and Spectrum. What defines the music of Lars Rühlemann and Sven Fröhlich - not least their 2021 album ‘Love Will Set U Free’ - is a curiousness and left-of-centre character that always embellishes each groove. That is once again the case here.

The sublime 'Ceremony' is seven minutes of deep but exotic house music. Expressive vocal wails drift in and out to spiritual effect while the warm beats roll deep. Shakers, lush pads and tropical melodies all bring the detail that makes this another standout cut.

With 'Ceremony,' Monkey Safari has already started to build anticipation for Body Language Vol. 24.

She started her musical path with classical piano, ventured to play in her school orchestras, and participated in various metal bands throughout her life as a guitarist. Starting in 2018 she began producing her own electronic music, initially in melodic house and techno.

Aiming at blending a visual experience with the duo's signature sound, bringing local and international guests each month, this new concept looks like a fresh and promising reality in Amsterdam's underground scene.⁠

After an incredible launch Analytic Records bring you their second EP! One that is full of tracks which further set the president of what’s to come from the label. This time they have the young stalwart who is making noise amongst the scene - Jake Beautyman providing a release that captures depth, groove & futuristic frequencies!

A tune which Jake say’s was made after a series of party’s in the big city of London one weekend. He’d been out immersing himself in sounds, and like a sponge, he took those onboard. Take a listen to the outcome.

It’s a journey that you could hear either at the end of a night (around 6am) or just as equally at the beginning being used to kick things off. Eerie vocals, interesting drum sequencing and luscious pads throughout.

Harvey McKay has notched up an impressive catalogue of releases for labels such as UNCAGE, Perc Trax, Cocoon, Filth On Acid and many more, always delivering well-polished and effective techno cuts. ‘Anatomy..’ follows 2009’s ‘Machine Make Noise’ album, released on the Soma Quality Recordings label, and marks a distinct progression in the stalwart producer’s sound.

From the opening strains of ‘Sequence Four (For Riley Instrumental)’, the assured maturity of McKay’s productions shine through, as the album touches on the many tones and tempos within the modern techno and electronic genre.

Whilst taking inspiration from the Detroit and Berlin school, it’s his own decidedly deep and funky aesthetic that binds the album together, as the ebb and flow of the thirteen tracks work magnificently, coming into land with the double delights of ‘Horizon’ and ‘Alive’.

Harvey McKay is a producer who has very much ‘stuck to his guns’ over the years, and remained aligned to the true techno sound, which is a real blessing when the music is this strong and rewarding.

The album is dedicated to my dear friend David Balmer and his fight against motor neurone disease. All profits from this album go to help Davey.

30 Years A DJ with Paul Sawyer

It's something of an understatement to say that Paul Sawyer has firmly stamped his mark within the electronic music scene. Over the last three decades he has never stopped working, and now boasts a catalogue that includes originals and remixes on storied labels such as Perfecto Records, Pure Progressive, Black Hole Recordings, Armada, Toolroom and many more, including his own highly respected Krafted Underground imprint. Few artists have such a long career; fewer still operate at such a high level of consistency and creativity.

Celebrating this landmark anniversary, Paul Sawyer will release 30 Years a DJ on 17th February 2023: a thirty track collection of original productions and remixes from a truly remarkable career. To coincide with the release, Paul is also set to host this 30 hour radio show on DI.FM Progressive.

His EP matched the success of his Chrom debut track, so we asked him back for another EP called "Cult".
