From the beautiful opening salvo of The Valley Of Songs to the forward march of Odyssey to the unrelenting battle cry of Black Soul and then back to the triumphant finale of Distance, Woo York cover all the bases here, taking the listener on a trip that feels complete from start to finish.

In Hour two we welcome back Ital Tek who appeared on Solid Steel in 2012 and has been a firm fixture on Planet Mu since his debut release in 2007. He did a track with Mike Paradinas as 'Mick & Alan' in 2013 and his latest album 'Hollowed' was released last month. He had this to say about his mix;
"Here is a mix showcasing a few tracks from my new album ‘Hollowed’ alongside some of my favourite recent and upcoming releases. Newly released material from some of my label mates at Planet Mu, a favourite of mine from the great new Ash Koosha album on Ninja Tune, tracks from the awesome new records by Clark and Roly Porter and a couple of unreleased pieces from my brother Edward. I’ve included ‘Night Traffic’ by Paul Lansky who has been an influence on me over the years and an untitled new ambient track of mine."

The dense, claustrophobic cut is about as industrial as it gets and is certainly one that requires a cautious approach. Louisahhh's echoed, haunting vocals remain in the forefront while the weighted kicks, groove-fuelled hi-hats and razor-sharp melodies thrash in the background.

After the critical success of his 'Hollowed' album, which many are calling an album of the year, Ital Tek releases a suite of five tracks which showcase a calm, lush side to his work. 

Lead track 'Beyond Sight’, one of the highlights of Hollowed, undulates and repeats, its riffs gathering gentle force as it approaches resolution. 'Sanctum' is dub from the catacombs; slow, dark and dusty with a sense of something ancient and foreboding. With ’Utter' traces of light start to appear taking us away from 'Sanctum’s' darkness, and as small notes start to form a melody over the palpitating backdrop, the sense of intensifying excitement develops throughout the track. 'Trace' is parched and elegant, its notes stretching out and extending into drones over a repeating rhythm, left flickering like a mirage. The EP ends with the swelling synths of 'Until The End Of Time' with its slowly rising melodies, snaking out over slow bass tones, suggesting a sunrise.
