New release from EDM Underground Bourne - Runaway EP with Deep House mood and great remixes from Ilias Katelanos, Specdub and Analog Trip Bourne%%u2019s career started on the beginnig of the new millenium. In his %%u201Estudy years%%u201D, in 2003 he was first discovered in an unusual way, he created the website of the Club of Colors, and he had been worked on its operation for two years. Because of this he established many notable connections in the Hungarian night life. After another two years he came up with his own music site which had strenghten his status and gave him further networking opportunities. Along the music site he developed and operated his presence in the night life as a DJ became constant, moreover he started to make his own songs as a producer. With his high class creations he enriched several DJ%%u2019s disk case like Moshic, Tarkan, Felipe, Mihai Popoviciu, The Timewriter and Hernan Cattaneo. From the autumn of 2008 he joined the Deaf Company formation, and at the same time he established his studio at home, furthermore he became resident DJ at Pub Fiction Club in Sopron and Makambo House in Ajka. Deaf Company is a successful DJ project, within this project he is one of the DJs while he is responsible for graphic design, website editorial and for promotions. The year of 2009 gave him other challenges when he established the Oversized Records which became one of the most vanted independent e-music record label in Hungary, while internationally was considerd among well known labels. The %%u201ETalent Of The Year 2010%%u201D was the outbreak in his career, in the competition of the most popular Hungarian electronic music magazin, called Soundhead.hu. In 2013 he challenged himself again, the outcome is that he is now internationally recognized. He was the first Hungarian producer who released with his EP at i! Records which belongs to the legendary American musician and DJ, Kevin Yos t. Alongside his producer and DJ career Bourne has found his unique specialty in the music industry with live effects as he is improvizing on the DJ stage with his own sounds, loops and other elementery rhythms. Drumcode continues its commitment to releasing the scene’s most cutting-edge techno. With releases this year already from Adam Beyer, Pig&Dan, Alan Fitzpatrick, Dense & Pika and Julian Jeweil, this July see’s the return of Enrico Sangiuliano with ‘Astral Projection’.

After his remix of Moby’s of ‘Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad’ back in November last year, Enrico sought creative inspiration from his travels, transcending that into his productions and long studio sessions during the winter months. The result brings a mind and body melting release from the Italian producer.

The title track ‘Astral Projection’ is a captivating, big room techno masterpiece. Deep reverberations punch alongside a sinisterly crisp percussive drive. Launching into a groove laden synth modulation of low end textures, it breaks down into an ethereal amalgamation of pads and synths before the vocal launches, taking this track to another level.

‘Blooming Era’ has destructive dancefloor intent. There is no holding back with the low end synth modulation which Enrico has mastered to perfection. A tightly woven percussive flare moulds flawlessly with the rolling oscillations of the beast of this track.

If you have seen label head honcho Adam Beyer playing anywhere on the globe in the last 5 months, this has been a peak time favourite. Road-tested to the max, and with much success.

"Closer goes first and is seven spooky minutes of spacious, acid-laced techno. Distant pads bring a cosmic feel and intimate spoken words make the whole thing feel personal yet unsettling as rubbery drums roll on below. Nothing pairs pulsating acid daubs with vocals drenched in reverb as slick drums drive things along. It’s a masterfully sparse yet engaging track that will cast its spell on all who hear it. Lastly, Motion is another absorbing track with deep drums and meandering pads sucking you into a cavernous sound world where alien motifs and acid gurgles work your mind as much as your feet.”

The seventh volume of Drumcode’s annual A-Sides compilation hits with no less than 10 debuts for the label, with Charlotte de Witte, ANNA, B.Traits and Scuba’s SCB project, among the collection of topline artists to release their maiden productions on the imprint. 

Over two decades into its lifespan, Drumcode keeps evolving and excelling, pushing techno forward while remaining wholly respectful of its roots. This reputation for progression was further fueled this summer with its inaugural festival at the NDSM Docklands in Amsterdam, featuring a long list of heavyweights including Nicole Moudaber, Joseph Capriati, Amelie Lens and Ida Engberg, among others. 

As ever, the A-Sides compilation provides a timely opportunity to showcase the full range of its sonic repertoire, with Adam Beyer scrupulously selecting 22 unreleased tracks that have taken prime position in his sets over recent months. 

Outstanding all-round talent ANNA kicks off the compilation with ‘Portable Paradise’, a pulsating cut that sets the tone for the top-shelf club cuts to follow. Also entering the debut field with their first ever Drumcode dalliances are B.Traits and Charlotte de Witte. The esteemed Canadian selector offers up ‘I Feel The Music’, a euphonic track that’s been sought after since spring, and the Belgian ballista unlocks a thick-edged club bomb in ‘Remember.’

Leaders of Drumcode’s new brigade, exciting Brazilian Wehbba and British techno alchemist Boxia set out to impress. Wehbba’s straight-talking ‘Just’ hits with an immediate sense of urgency before neck-snap claps strike with force, and Boxia’s ‘Final Call’ elicits physical engagement with mellifluous vocals and soaring pads. 

Continuously looking to bolster the profiles of emerging talent, Berlin-based producers Weska and Juliet Fox are brought into the fold with equally engaging razor-sharp tracks that are primed to do lasting damage. 

Other notable highlights include an exhilarating workout from Reset Robot - the most released artist on Beyer’s imprint Truesoul – as he lands on Drumcode for the first time. And tastemaker’s favourite Jel Ford makes a welcome return as he ushers in techno rhythms with bustling breaks in ‘Nightshade.’

Elsewhere, support from label mainstays comes in from Bart Skils, who offers a work of consummate skill in ‘West Of The Moon.’ Alan Fitzpatrick, who’s been heavily featured across the A-Side series, joins forces with Scuba as he operates as his uncompromising alias SCB. The result is a propulsive floor-gripper that testifies to their masterful deftness as co-producers. Formidable duos Dense & Pika and Pig&Dan also contribute with powerful compositions.

UK techno giant Perc is gearing up to release a remix EP for his gargantuan cut 'Look What Your Love Has Done To Me' off his 2017 album 'Bitter Music'. In addition to creating his own VIP mix of the seven-minute dancefloor epic, Perc has tapped I Hate Models and Amelie Lens to reinterpreted what remains the biggest-selling track in the history of the artist's Perc Trax imprint.

Ahead of the three-track release on July 26, Mixmag has acquired the latter of the three remixes for a premiere. The Belgian techno phenomenon keeps the track's core drums intact while adding a deep and seductive melodic touch that gives the umbrous techno slammer a fresh spectral feel.

Awakenings Eindhoven 2020 | La Fleur

Since last summer I’ve been playing HYBRID sets, which is a half LIVE / half DJ set. Basically, arranging and mixing parts and phrases for a LIVE set, but not limiting myself to only my music. Unlike a normal DJ set, you don’t have to play the full track… just take the parts that fit and mix them into the LIVE parts that are being played. This way nothing is off limits and creates a much more dynamic experience from start to finish.

Cocoon's Michael Klein joins the 6AM Guest Mix family with a one-hour studio mix straight from his home in Germany.

Dark but groovy basslines are what defines the unique sound of Michael Klein. Born in Frankfurt, the former techno capital of Germany, raised by the sounds of Cocoon and Robert Johnson, Michael quickly found his passion for gradually teasing and heavy grooves.

His releases reflect a wide range of sound from raw straightforward techno to groovy dubby sounds up to experimental and complex journeys through noises. Finding the "right" sound for the "right" moment is what makes Michael's production quality so multifaceted. His productions are recognized and supported by artists like Amelie Lens, Pan-Pot, Sven Väth, Dubfire, Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer, Chris Liebing and many more.

Michael is known for energetic and hypnotizing sets that combine strong programming and mixing skills. His powerful manipulative mixing style sets him apart as an artist and a DJ creating something unique for the very moment with the "right" sound that puts the crowd into euphoria and sweat.

With ‘Can You Handle It’, we welcome back Ryan Dupree on Stil vor Talent after a longer hiatus. The result was definitely worth the wait though, as Ryan presents two catchy deep house weapons that can easily hold their own next to the genre’s big success stories of the past months. As a bonus, Ryan’s SVT100 compilation track can be found, alongside a convincing Teenage Mutants remix. While ‘Joy’ offers itself as an uplifting slice of house thanks to rolling percussion, chopped diva vocals and an elastic bass line, ‘Take Me Higher’ aims for the peak-time. Here, menacing acid sounds meet wild claps and a thunderstorm of synths. The title-track ‘Can You Handle It’ then focuses on a low-slung, driving bass line and pitched-down spoken word. Lastly, Teenage Mutants reduces the original’s elements to the essential to create a slow and spacious groover. You can literally smell the club’s sweat.
