Delivering the mix for our fourteenth Spotlight is the Dutch Live Performance Artist Dissolver.

Dissolver is one of those special artists with an aim to showcase his very unique sound to the world with a killer mentality. Dissolver is an upcoming Live Performance artist, having started out just recently with releasing his music but already booking major success with releases on Nina Kraviz's trip label. His motto 'Live hardware techno but not as serious' is exactly what you can expect of his mix for BASIS. Remarkable samples, deep kicks, and sometimes a cheeky edit are things you’re likely to come across during one of his sets.

EMILY KNIGHT

Emily is no stranger to the underground scene. Her fast and heavy sound has developed over the past two years and consists of versatile Hard Dance and Techno. Her focus for 2022 is to push her sound through production, with upcoming gigs including Mint Warehouse and ADE. 

This mix explores a variety of hard dance and techno elements, with tracks from artists such as Vizionn, Julian Muller, and Incident Prism. Enjoy the journey 😎

Recording of my set at F_AKE JUNE_10TH at Drafbaan Groningen.

The organization gave me this challenging timeslot in between Joe Sane and Moxes during sunrise - I had to bring down the BPM and intensity while preserving the energy on the dance floor. For this I played with the flow, different rhythms and tactical use of more melodic tracks.

In our 28 years of existence, we've always pushed clubculture and all the sounds and genres that belong to the night. We think it's only right to add more depth to that by starting our own series in which we invite artists that fit our brand, to record a banger mix. It's been on our bucketlist for a while, so finally here we are. 

What better way than to start off with our very own resident @locuserror, who played this set live at our clubevent in July, during the famous Vierdaagsefeesten.
