Incredible levels of energy and emotion from live act Le Boom, bringing their trance stylings of the Irish language to The Mixmag Lab at Ireland's All Together Now Festival.

"We brought our Hot Gael Rave to The Mixmag Lab on the last night of All Together Now. Thought no one would turn up, but you were right there with us. Buíochas ó chroí. A special one we’ll never forget."

The Mixmag x Radio Alhara stage at All Together Now was set alongside The Great Oven's Disco Cantina, a charity that puts giant ovens in conflict zones and places of need to feed and develop community.

Raised in the suburbs of Johannesburg, @djthakzin-1 represents the latest in a long line of South African artists to have shaped dance music globally. Growing up on a diet of kwaito and deep house, as well as a variety of sounds picked up from his musical household including gospel, jazz and R&B, Thakzin is best known for his creation of South Africa’s hottest new sound, 3-Step. The experimental genre represents an evolution of the Afro house scene based around ‘tension and release’, identifiable through dropping a kick from the traditional house pattern of 4, hence the name. It came to worldwide prominence in 2023 garnering recognition from the likes of Kaytranada and Louie Vega, with a sound that adopts the melancholy and soulful harmonies of deep house, the guttural drums of gqom, and the crunching energy of amapiano; a blend which just feels so right. 

"Every mix is a journey, and this one holds something special. With tracks from the upcoming album woven through, it reflects what 'God's Window Pt. 1' means: unity, togetherness, and the timeless power of music to connect us all." says Thakzin.

The musical identity of Berlin’s Discrete Circuit is shaped by the creative vibrancy of Berlin and the soul of Detroit, as well as the energy of house and techno in its most timeless form. Originally started as a duo in 2012, Discrete Circuit is now a one-man project by Andreas Horn, who also runs the emerging AWAY parties in Berlin as well as the newly established vinyl label of the same name. Early 2015, DVS1 releases “Incursion” on ‘The Brunette’, a various artists EP on Mistress Recordings. It ends up to be one of thé underground hits of the year and gets crowned in the GROOVE magazine readers poll (‘Best Track Of The Year’ by the readers n° 7 / by DJ’s n° 10). Discrete Circuits comes also out as second in the category ‘Newcomer Of The Year’. By June that same year Delsin Records re-launch their Inertia sub-arm to release the first full EP by Discrete Circuit “Machine Code”. Textured and atmospheric, this EP is one for late night techno loving warehouse crews around the world. Discrete Circuit keeps the tempo going and early 2016 a second full EP “Redial” is brought to life on Mark Broom his Beard Man stamp. With Discrete Circuit the connection between Berlin & Detroit got a new reinforcement.
