INIT is Benedikt Frey & Nadia D’Alò. We are delighted to present their long delayed vinyl and digital album, NRGY.

Born out of various art performances and installations, INIT states a logical outcome of Berlin based duo Nadia D'Alò and Benedikt Frey. With heavy use of analogue synthesis and drum-machines, INIT rethinks its genre's sonic approach, unfolding a unique and organic, yet alienating sound, somewhere in the mysterious midst of Acid, Techno, Ambient and Kraut-Rock. 

This is INIT's third album, following two releases on Hivern Discs, and performances at clubs such as Berghain, Robert Johnson and Pudel Club.

INIT say - 

Module, NRGY, and Time were reverse extracted out of our live set and re-recorded and re-arranged after we realised how well they work in clubs. It is the first time we worked this way as we tend not to play our compositions live, like we produced them. Mostly we just extract loops out of our production to mess around with in a loose live project. 

Snowglobe, Holes In My CV and N.O.D. were more built up from a studio jam plus a bulletproof-ish arrangement afterwards. 

Tried and tested on dance floors this is a surefire hit album on the dancefloor, and at home. NRGY!

Two years on since his BR debut in Berlin, our attention is drawn once again to Benedikt Frey and his Lopasura (Love, Pain, Sunshine & Rain) imprint. Since its 2012 formation, Lopasura has housed Benedikt's own releases. Following on from the Connect Four compilation by Drvg Cvltvre, Mark Forshaw, The Acid Mercenaries and Benedikt himself, he now returns with the label's fourth release. Out of the Fog showcases a trio of analogue-laden techno mastery. The title track opens proceedings fittingly. Acid low-tessitura chords hiss continuously underneath while siren synths whir in and out in their grandeur, peaking to symphonic effect before fading back into the dark. A sense of drama that encompasses Love, Pain, Sunshine & Rain comprehensively.

Catch Out of the Fog creeping out of the shadows on 21st April via Lopasura.

Paradise Palms goes from strength to strength as it forges new paths through 2017. The dive bar and venue turned vinyl record store & label recently announced its second release in the form of a digi-single by Parisian Art-Noir experimentalists "Hey Mother Death", with their third release taking the form of a dance floor oriented 12” of specially curated remixes for Record Store Day 2017. This limited pressing includes remixes by fourprogressive new dance artists prominent in Edinburgh & Glasgow. Israeli producer Eliezer drops 3 cuts of post-punk influenced disco on Days Of Being Wild.

A prominent figure of the underground music scene in Tel Aviv for more than 20 years Eliezer is no stranger to Days Of Being Wild, having released the neurotic and anxious “With Screening” with his partner in crime Middle Sky Boom, back in 2016.
Since then Eliezer has been rather busy, releasing records with Eskimo, Unterman, Prins Thomas imprint Internasjonal (as Midnight Dicers) and La Dame Noir. 

His latest EP Haifa Mafia, released amid world wide confinement and paranoia on your favourite purveyor of disco noir doesn’t stray from his cold wave tendencies - pretty fitting for such dark and strange times. 

All cuts presented here are very much in the Israeli post punk/ wave sound we grew to like. 
There is minimalism and elegance in Eliezer production as well as a nod to retro industrial and electronic music from the early 80’s such as Cabaret Voltaire or Front 242. 
But with a very contagious exotic twist. 
The three tracks on offer here are constructed on repetitive and hypnotic disco bass, dusty percussions and oriental, languid guitar lines all colliding to create an airy and pulsating sonic landscape of dancing melancholia.
Children voices, whispers cascading through echoes, cryptic messages and vaporous synths contribute to the mix and create a dark, moody almost cinematic atmosphere enhanced by the general slow tempos of the tracks.

Closing the EP is an even slower slice of melancholy techno, Belgian producer Strapontin’s remix of Crown Zero chugs along the darkest alleys of clubbing with its claps lost in echoes and guitar trapped in tar, like these dreams where you run but feel like you are standing still, or where you try to escape but never seem to reach the exit.
