Fjordfunk, Jackmaster Dahle, Kango Sten Massiv, Jann Dahle goes by many names, but since the early 2000’s he’s been making esoteric beat music across these platforms with music that travelled from cut n paste house of Kyd & Kango to the electro funk of Fjordfunk. After a long period of inactivity, Dahle has returned to fray with a new EP as Fjordfunk and a special one off performance for this Boiler Room event.

Norway’s Marius Circus has been releasing his brand of funk infused Nu-Disco since 2011 via the likes of Prins Thomas’ Full Pupp, Ocean Moon and of course his very own In The Garden imprint.

Rune Lindbæk from the now legendary ‘Those Norwegians’ recording outfit has been releasing music since 1992. He has produced with the disco heroes Idjut Boys and Lindstrøm, and remixed artists like The Knife, José Gonzalez and Bryan Ferry. He has released music with seminal labels like Smalltown Supersound, Apollo/R&S, Noid and his own Drum Island Records. Rune’s musical output ranges from ambient to film music and balearic dub disco.

Karolinskii produces electronic music, mostly techno in all forms of dub. Karolinski, a self-described “programming nerd”, is also the founder of record label FJORDFJELLOGDALER (FFDR) and her work is treasured locally as a unique addition to Bergen’s rich techno scene.

A true deep house soldier and a purveyor of only the finest house, techno and everything in between, Ivaylo is a multifaceted DJ and producer based in Oslo, Norway. Established out of Oslo in 2014, his Bogota label personifies all that’s great about Ivalyo’s musical vision: colourful, eclectic and impossible-to-pigeonhole, it neatly reflects his own way of working.

From synth wave to Belgium new beat, Helene Rickhard plays in the brooding sounds of vintage synths and DIY drum machines through her sets. She has dabbled in the electronic music avant garde as a recording artist, but in recent years she’s dedicated all her time to the booth, from where she crafts mixes with a distinct voice that plays on the darker hues of the electronic music palette from a collection of underground cuts from the past and the present.

Two pivotal bodies in the sphere of Norwegian electronic music, g-HA & Olanskii are an event, a club, a DJ duo, and a musical authority for Norway. Individually adept as DJ, selectors and tastemaker, Jaeger’s Ola “Olanskii” Smith-Simonsen and Geir “g-HA” Holger’s musical voices unified for Sunkissed, an events series that has become the backbone of the Oslo’s electronic music scene and beyond.

DSR is back with a new 7" release by Norwegian fivesome hubbabubbaklubb.

The band, of which Danish edit maestro Joystick Jay is a member, weave an all-live smooth disco vibe with toasty warm synths and a stoned summer aura.

'Mopedbart' is best mixed with a hammock, cold beer and a sunset as it jams along with mellow pads, hand claps and the story of a dude cruising around town on his scooter living it easy. 'Lille Sote Svanse' picks up the pace for a popping disco cut which simmers away with its bass-heavy groove before giving way to a stunning Rick Wright-inspired lead break journey into the stratosphere.

Both sides ooze colour and transport anybody within earshot straight to a toasty world of deck chairs, disco dancing and good times.
