For Local Action’s final outing of the year, the label has tapped up NY curio Lil Jabba. 47 is the EP name, but isn’t probably too far off the number of releases they’ve packed into the past twelve months. “SiLeNCeR.” feels like an amalgamation of their entire 2014 catalogue. There’s a lot going on here.

For one, the (restless) resting bed of beats is a surf ’n turf of skittering breaks set to a footwork pace. Then you’ve got the 80s B-movie horror atmospherics lurching around, and an eerily familiar melodic lead piercing through. Clocking in at a trim four minutes it should be a total mess, but somehow works out great. I mean, it’s Local Action - what did you expect? Go cop it on Dec 15th.

He's soundtracked a pivotal scene in an Oscar-winning film; he's worked with Underworld; he's a regular colalborator with Appleblim (their ALSO project is now signed to R&S); his Houndstooth album has had support across the board; he's got remixes on his new EP from underground legends Cristian Vogel and LukeVibert... But more than any of those reasons we're excited because in terms of production technique AND ragged rave spirit he's one of the best in the game, and his tracks are always superb – simple as that.

Hot Creations deliver ‘Words Gone’, the first single from the forthcoming artist album ‘Love Somebody’ by Parisian luminary Popof.

Featuring the handsome voice of Arno Joey, ‘Words Gone’ is a stunning slice of electronic music with crossover appeal, giving us a taster of what is in store for the album. Cadenza boss Luciano’s remix dives into tribal percussion, while main man Jamie Jones flips into a new gear, introducing a new melody, deep pads and emotive keys. Canadian techno legend Marc Houle is last to remix, using a bright synth melody to add a new groove.

Voted Best Newcomer artist at the Ibiza DJ Awards in 2009, Popof has gained notoriety for his work with Cocoon, and remixing the likes of Depeche Mode, Chemical Brothers, and Moby. Haymakers from Kahn (Over Deh So/Abbatoir) and Gantz's Witch Blues EP rubber-stamped their intentions from early on, and bits from Jack Sparrow, Kaiju and K Man have kept the ball rolling steadily into Q3. Now Mala and co reveal their strongest hand to date.

MEDiLP011 is a collaboration of gargantuan proportions. Kahn, Commodo and Gantz sell out of stock quickly enough in their own rights; now the styles of all three get tumble-dried together in a melange of Bristolian and Middle Eastern sub-low. "Unmistakable" is just one example out of the six - an earthy deep roller anchored by a hush-hush grumble of a sample and, of course, bottommost low-end.
